Bio and Links
I am a Librarian by trade and am just getting started in tracing my family's history. I found Find a Grave so useful, I thought I would sign up and participate. I hope to be able to contribute more once I am able to travel more.

I am particularly interested in the Nipper, Ellison, Carter, Williams, and Farley families in East Tennessee (particularly Knox, Union, Grainger, and Claiborne Counties right now), and the Farmer, Foshee, Free, and Napier families in Georgia and South Carolina.

I am always glad to get corrected or additional information on any of these memorials and to transfer management to relatives.

Thank you to all who contribute to Find a Grave. Your work makes a big difference.

Elijah N. Farmer

I came across the the memorial of Elijah N. Farmer of Wilkerson Co. Georgia. His military marker states that he was in the 2nd Georgia State Troops and there is a note in the bio which stated that his muster roll states that he was actually in the 2nd Georgia State State Line. I can not find him mentioned in either unit on Fold 3. I do however find an E. N. Farmer who enlisted as a Private in Company A, 4th Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters. His service record states he was from Wilkinson County. I am interested in tracking down this Private E. N. Farmer and to acquire a photograph of him. Any chance this could be Elijah N. Farmer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Thank you!

I'm sorry, but I don't. I thought they may be the John and Harriet buried in Fenders, but the dates don't really match, at least not for John. Harriet's still a possibility, but there's no real proof. I think there are probably more Alexanders buried there than we see on Find a Grave.

Joseph Marion Carter
I am the Great Grand Daughter of Everett Carter. I do know that Joseph Marion Carter and Pauline Atkins are His parents. All the siblings are correct. However, I am concerned about William Carter and Nancy Landis being the parents of Joseph Marion Carter. I have found no census records showing William and Nancy having a child named Joseph M or Joseph in the time of 1860. Where did you get your information? I would love to have access to the documents. I am trying to get the family tree straight.

RE: Photos from Paint Rock Cemetery
Thanks for your kind note! I took photos of other Browns that were close by. I know you have also done a lot of work for Find a Grave. I appreciate finding your memorials after I have photographed the markers.
