|Cathy Coker Mullis||Willing to add data?|
Would you be willing to make a few changes to some of your entries? It would be nice if you would update Ella Mullis name to her full name - Mary Etta Ella Rebecca Norris Mullis, and link her to her husband Harry Tracy Mullis. I have added their son Willie Nichols Mullis linked him to both of them.
|Nancy||About Homer Lee Norris|
After reviewing the information about the Norris family that you have added to the Aspermont Cemetery, I can see that you have indeed done your research about this family. Therefore, I have decided that you will do the same for the Homer Norris memorial. The "General Norris Research" threw me......so many people request tranfers just because they "share the name"..which is not the same as being an actual family member. I believe that everyone deserves to be memorialized as best as we can. And to provide information for family members who cannot visit the area to obtain the information. I apologize to you for seeming protective of my memorial. I will transfer to you today.

About your request:
My name is Gary Norris and have taken over duties as the unofficial Norris Genealogist. Thomas Norris from Missouri migrated to Red Oak TX. then Stonewall County after serving in the Civil War. Most of the Norris Line is buried in Aspermont, Lubbock, and Odessa. Please transfer this memorial to me so that I can update it. My number is 47247780. Also was curious where you attained the birth and death dates for this memorial. Thanks."
(I have updated the dates on the memorial)
THIS Thomas Norris below was born AFTER the civil war and could not be the same Thomas you are talking about. All of James Norris' children were born after the Civil War)
Ref: About the Homer Norris memorial.
According to the source I have Homer is the son of Thomas and Georgia Allen Norris, (as is Essie Ray who shares the stone with Homer). Thomas was not from Missouri...his father, James, was from Tennessee, moved to Stephens County TX and then in 1902 moved to Stonewall County. Thomas was the son of James Elisha Norris and married Ruthie Ida Geaslin. According to the family info. James came straight from TN. to Texas.
This doesn't sound like the same Norris family you were talking about. The memoirs in the book were written by family members, so should be fairly correct. According to the family Tom was born in Texas.
If this is actually YOUR family, I will be glad to transfer to you, but it sounds like it was a different Norris family to me. If you are doing just a "General Norris Family" genealogy, then I would prefer to transfer to a family member who is from THIS SAME Norris family.
Please let me know, and/or provide more information as to your relationship with THIS Norris line. I don't have a problem transferring memorials, but it sounds like the Norris family isn't your OWN line.

|Lyle Fulton||Norris Graves in Colbert, OK|
We returned to Garden of Memories Cemetery today, hoping to find and photograph the grave of little W.E. Norris. I'm sorry to have to tell you that although we walked throughout the Jerico section, we found no trace of the grave. I suspect the baby is in an unmarked grave. We were lucky in another section, however. We found the grave of Marvin Norris which had previously been without a photo. We also found and photographed the grave of Lee Edward Norris who has not been memorialized in Find A Grave. I;m creating a memorial page for him. If this is one of your Norris family members, I will be glad to transfer it to your management if you wish.
|Lyle Fulton||Norris Graves in Colbert, Oklahoma|
We went to Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert yesterday in an attempt to fulfill your photo requests for Norris relatives.We were mostly successful. We did not find the W.E. Norris grave, but will search for it on our next visit to the cemetery. We discovered that Wilburn Norris shares a stone with wife Bertha. Find A Grave member Jan Lyde created the memorials for both of these folks, so I added the photo to both memorials. While at the cemetery yesterday, we also found and photographed grave stones for these other Norris relatives: Peggy, Willie, Lillian and Jody. Jan Lyde had created memorials for all but Jody Norris, so I added the photos to the memorials she had created. I have not found a memorial for Jody Norris, so will create one for her and add the photo. If you wish, I will be happy to transfer the memorial to your management. Just let me know. Perhaps Jan Lyde would also transfer her memorials to you if you would request her to do so.
|Dorothy J. Shadwell Wheatley||question?|
I have found 2 contributors numbers so which one do I use to transfer this memorialto you?
