Bio Photo I have been married for 30 years and have two grown sons. I live in Liberty, New York for more than half of my life.
I became involved with Find-a-Grave since the passing of my parents. I quickly became aware of how helpful this site is in locating long lost relatives and also helped me to view the memorials in the cemeteries of my relatives that are a great distance from me.

RE: Catherine Kroohs
Hi !

Yes, indeed, I am named for Catherine; she was named for her mother (my g'mother) and aunt (my great-aunt). Her oldest brother William was my dad. I'd love to hear more about Paul; literally all I know about him from my family is his name (how I wish I had been smart enough to ask questions while Dad was alive). I knew abut the stove, but that was pretty much all I know about Catherine.

RE: Photo for my grandfather
I actually didn't put the picture on your grandfather's memorial. Find a Grave selects a cemetery picture and adds it to each memorial. They happened to have selected my photo as the one to use.
He had quite a family. Do you know where the rest of his family is?

RE: photo request
I'd suggest you create a memorial for him now. I'm working on another cemetery now but I'll certainly keep your request for when I make it up that way.
Thanks for writing.

I live 4 miles from Pennsboro Cemetery. I'm over there often to walk and I will take a better photo for you, I'm not happy of the one I posted.
The cemetery is really pretty, lots of flowers blooming in the spring, most of the trees had to be cut down after the tornado's that have been through her the last few years.

Hello Star,

I will take care of it....You will receive an email saying that I transferred ownership to you. If you do not get this email by the end of the day, please let me know and I will do it again. I love it when a family member takes ownership. It makes the memorial much more special.
Thanks for writing..:-)

RE: Viola Macchia

I always love it when a family member adds something personal to a memorial that I posted.

Would you like to take ownership of the site? You can add anything you want to the biography if you do. I would gladly transfer the ownership to you.

I add memorials at random. If something catches my eye I add that memorial. In the case of your mother, it was her name. My first grade teacher (and a teacher I loved dearly) was Viola Post.
When I saw your mothers name was Viola, I just knew she was a kind person and a good mother.

Thank you for writing and let me know if you would like me to transfer the memorial.
