|I am a relatively new genealogist but very willing to help others in finding lost graves. I can easily do cemeteries in and around the Greater Chicago area as well as Northern Indiana. The surnames that I am specifically interested in are Whitacre, Householder, Price, Imus, Pletcher, Fleming, Ransley, Croucher, Bottorff, and Brothers. If I can help anyone please ask, just keep in mind that we are in a deep freeze 3-4 months of the year, so not willing to shovel snow for a picture :-)|

Take All the info You need from mine and I will remove mine when You are done. That includes the photos from cemetery. Let me know when You are done.
I missed Yours because there was no cemetery listed.
|Carolyn Brock||RE: Artiest Monroe Pletcher|
Thanks for your response. Carolyn
|Carolyn Brock||Artiest Monroe Pletcher|
Please remove the link to Artiest Monroe Pletcher from Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher since he was not one of her children.
Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher is my Great Grandmother and she was not the mother to Artiest Monroe Pletcher - his mother was Mary Jane Mikels.
|Carolyn Brock||Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher|
Please remove the link from Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher's page to Andrew J Pletcher's headstone page.
Barbara Etta Swab and Andrew Jackson Pletcher are my Great Grandparents. Their daughter is my Grandmother (Mary Margaret Pletcher Ballinger) and our Great Grandfather was never married to Mary. He was born in Ohio, 20 Aug 1848, and he died in Harlingen, Texas, 22 May, 1925. His death certificate shows his father as Christian Pletcher and his mother as Margaret Hunsicker. His body was removed to Toledo, Ohio and one of his daughters (Emma Pletcher Weeks we believe) made the arrangements for his burial.
Thanks for your assistance and should you find where our Andrew Jackson Pletcher is buried in Ohio (we believe him to be buried in Bechtel Cemetery but can't find a record on Findagrave confirming that information), please let us know.
|Carolyn Brock||Harvey Leander Pletcher|
Please remove the link to Harvey Leander Pletcher's page from Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher's page since he is not one of her children.
Apparently, there are two Andrew Jackson Pletchers and the one who is the father to Harvey Leander Pletcher is the one who was married to Mary Jane Mikel.
Our Great Grandfather Andrew Jackson Pletcher was born in Ohio, 20 Aug 1848 and died in Harlingen, Texas, 22 May 1925 and was married to Barbara Etta Swab (he never remarried).
Here are the names of Barbara Etta Swab and Andrew Jackson Pletcher's children:
Emma Jane Pletcher Weeks
George H Pletcher
Mary Margaret Pletcher Ballinger
Jacob Samuel Pletcher
Ida Elizabeth Pletcher Moomey
Infant (it is our understanding that Barbara Etta and baby died during child birth)
We are not aware of any other children and if you find something contrary to our information, please let us know.
|Carolyn Brock||Andrew J Pletcher|
The record you have on Andrew J Pletcher has some incorrect information.
My great grandfather Andrew Jackson Pletcher was married to Barbara Etta Swab. However, his father is Christian Pletcher and his mother is Margaret Hunsicker. He was born in Ohio, 20 Aug 1848 and died in Harlingen, Texas, 22 May 1925. Our grandmother is Mary Margaret Pletcher Ballinger, his daughter.
Apparently, there are two Andrew J Pletchers so please remove our Andrew Jackson Pletcher's information from your page.
FYI, we have been searching for our Andrew Jackson Pletcher's gravesite for some time to no avail. The death certificate shows that his body was removed to Toledo, Ohio. We know that one of his daughters (Emma Pletcher Weeks we believe) made the arrangements for his burial.
Barbara Etta Swab Pletcher is buried at Bechtel Cemetery in Van Buren, Ohio. Thoughts are that he is also buried there but "Findagrave" has no record of him being buried in that cemetery. Should you find where our Andrew Jackson Pletcher is buried, please let us know.
|Alberta Pottorf||RE: David Bottorff Jr (1805-1887)|
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your question. My husband just had heart valve surgery, and the genealogy research has been put on the back burner.
I will try to attach the information I have on David Bottorff, Sr. As you will note, there is no verification shown. I received it a number of years ago from a Bottorff descendant.
|Roots of Mine||RE: Oak Woods Cemetery|
Hi there, Yes I go alone and feel safe. I usually go in the morning around 8 a.m. to get it out the way early. The cemetery opens at 8:30 a.m. but I have always caught the gates open at 8 a.m. and no one has ever said anything. If you need to go in the office for a look up or maps they don't open until 8:30 a.m. I've done it for awhile now that I have many of the section maps and can get around pretty well in the cemetery. It is really well maintained and with beautiful grounds. If you would like to meet me there one day just let me know. There is enough requests for an army of photographers lol. I am also female.
How have you been doing? Marji and I have been in contact for a few weeks now and I am getting caught up with Chapter 6 for Henry Huffman. I would love to compare notes and get back into working on this. Hope to hear from you soon and getting all caught up.
|Vicky Stozich||RE: Mahlon Whitacre|
Yes, I'm sorry it is not. I assume one of those broken stones in the photo is probably his.
