|usndds||JOHN TOWNSEND 36412862|
Hello and thank you for your work. My Findagrave Member # is 47279891. Regarding John Townsen - b. 1712 Find A Grave #36412862: John was my wife's 5th great grandfather. There is some information on Findagrave.com that is confusing, regarding John Townsend, and Freelove Townsend Pinckney. I spoke with David at St Pauls Historical Church and we believe that Freelove Townsend Pinckney's Father and Grandfather may have been switched during transcription. I have verified the following information with other sources, but will type in some information from the book Memorial of the Townsend Brothers, published by W. A. Townsend in 1865: "Daniel Townsend, son of James married Freelove, daughter of Captain Samuel Dickinson,and died in 1724 or 1725. - Issue John and Benjamin. John was born in 1712...In 1739 he married Anne Gedney...He died in 1787, and was buried in St. Paul's Church... -Issue, Freelove, John, James, Elijah, Daniel, Mary, Margaret,Martha. John joined the Revolution... [John's daughter], Freelove was born in 1740, in what was called the hard winter...Freelove married William Pinckney, a farmer of East Chester..." I would like to link the family members. I appreciate your assistance. Thank you

|Jennifer Palmer||John and jane townsend|
i saw you have listed some information on John and Jane Townsend. I've been try to track these two. I believe they had a daughter Martha Townsend (Palmer) which is my 4th Great Grandmother. I found the names of John and Jane Townsend in a Quaker record from when Martha and my 4'xs great grandfather Edward palmer left Plattekill Ulster co New York and Moved to Stroudburg Monroe co PA. in that record it stated Martha Townsend palmer Daughter of John and Jane Townsend.
i show she was born in Sullivan co ny but not sure if that is correct. Martha was born 14 April 1786 she married Edward Palmer 1811 in Plattekill NY. she and edward moved to Stroudburg PA about 1814. Edward died young in 1825. Martha stayed in PA where she died in 20 of December 1850. Their son my 3 x's great grandfatherJohn Townsend Palmer come back to plattekill 3/4 month after the death of his father. John is buired with the rest of my family at the Plattekill Friends meeting house cemetery. any information you have on this family would be great.
I am confused by something in find a grave regarding Anna Townsend.
You have her parents as John Townsend (B. 1749)
and Anne Gedney (B. 1714) Quite a difference in age.
You also have her father John as married to Anne Gedney.
I suspect this is incorrect.
Do you have any other information?

It is pretty easy to see. It is slightly off the side of the main road. Next to (behind) a small quickie mart. There is no fence surrounding it or church nearby. I think is was near a road turnoff from the main road.
I took photos of all the visible stones and posted them.

All the photos I have were posted. I do not save the photos after I post them unless they are my family. So the only information available from me is what you see online.

You asked if her husband was there. Richard Walter Burke (6/30/1878 to 03/18/1949) [grave # 81]is to her left. To her right is their son, Edward Richard Burke (06-04-1910 to 02/26/1982) [grave # 83] and his wife, Claire Aline Burke (07/31/1913 to 02/14/2001)[grave # 84].
I have photos ready for all three.
