Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Cheryl Babcock Wilson. I am researching for the benefit of my granddaughters.
I have found 8 direct ancestors that were Revolutionary War Veterans, so far, and many Civil War veterans that fought on both sides. I am the proud daughter of and the proud mother of combat veterans.
I love finding the personal histories of the men and women that contributed to my being here.

The following poem says it all:

The Strangers In The Box

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box Ive often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

Johnson Grove
I noticed your name on some of the memorials I am providing pictures for. I finished Cypress Church, and now am working on Johnson Grove, Shallow well, and Grace Chapel. If you have any special request for Western Harnett, East Moore, or Lee Counties, let me know. ( Lizzie Wilson)

Allison Stec Bell
Your fourth great grandfather
I am so glad to have found you! My research led me here. My name is Allison and I am from Virginia Beach. Through Find a Grave I traced you down from Arthur Harrison. He was born in 1793 and is buried in my neighborhood cemetery along with his wife and most of their family. I, and members of the local civic league, have started a project that unfortunately the city of Virginia Beach has decided to abandon. The cemetery where they are is located at 857 Romney Lane in Virginia Beach. It is on Find a Grave as the "Land Harrison cemetery". This cemetery had all of the headstones razed about 50 years ago except for one, a gentleman who I don't believe is related to you. A playground was put in place. Being that the city has chosen to remove the playground equipment, we are stuck with no one to care for the property, as well as no way to memorialize those buried here who most are unaware are even there. We are simply trying to reach out to living relatives to get them to join our team in the hopes that the city will give us permission to erect a memorial with the names of the deceased and perhaps some park benches, along with perpetual care. Please contact me at allisonbell@ymail.com if you can help in any way, or at the very least, wish to be kept "in the loop" with our project. We want your ancestors to not be forgotten or abandoned. :)

RE: John Calvin Potts
R U on Facebook, I have a FB page called Potts Corner, it's about Potts Geneology and a town known as Lost City, OK. My Great-Grandparents John and Carrie (Briggs) Potts owned and operated the only General Store and Gas Pump in the town. They also donated a lot of land for the school and cemetery.
