I am an avid family historian for over 30 years and a native Montanan. When I was working on my MA thesis in History ("Myron Brinig's Butte: Jews in the Wide Open Town"), I spent a summer transcribing the information from the graves at the B'Nai Israel cemetery in Butte (my home town).
Family names I am researching include:
Wilson - McWhirter
Chartier/Carter - Neveu
Bertrand - Kuether
Sutherland - Sollars
Brittain - McMinn
Vance - Cole
Douthitt - Moore
Dillworth - Stilwell
Find a Grave is not a scholarly website. I think it has many purposes including providing catharsis and aiding with the grieving process, helping people with their family history, connecting relatives, remembering the dead, finding burial sites, etc. Those who think it is only for locating graves have a narrow imagination.
Sometimes all we know about a family member is what is printed in an old biography or what someone told us. This acts as a foundation for finding, correcting, adding to their history. I believe this should be a friendly collaborative process where we build together a story as we find more information. I will make mistakes. Feel free to let me know and I will correct.
My philosophy on transfers is simple - I believe memorials should be in the hands of relatives, even if not close relatives. I am happy to transfer, in fact I am waiting for the relatives of the B'Nai Israel and St. Patrick's cemetery memorials to contact me to care for their family memorials. I'm happy to transfer to relatives.

|David L Underhill U.E.||United Church Cemetery Lakeville Corner|
I live in Fredericton NB Canada and this cemetery is known as the Sheffield United Church Cemetery and located in Sheffield NB - not in Lakeville Corner which is another different location - You are able to change this on your records . An Underhill ancestor attended this church at one time and she is buried in Sheffield United Church Cemetery - I have put photo of headstone online with some information. Thanks for helping fix this problem.
|Trudy Brooks||John and Catherine Sollars|
Hi, I was updating my family lines and just noticed you and I think a Doug Sollars have created duplicate sites for John 61379939 and 81804172, and Catherine Stothard Sollars 81804197 and 61379323. You might want to check with him and have him take his down, since you have more information on yours. Thanks Trudy Brooks Oh William Sollars 1760-1833 is a 5th Great Grand Father.

|Tom and Nancy Gawthrop||William C Davis memorial|
I stand corrected. The memorial is #20331373. This getting older sucks!
|Tom and Nancy Gawthrop||William C Davis memorial|
His memorial is #20441373, and you maintain it. In his bio you have mentioned his last wife, and that there might be more children. There are. William had first married Lucinda Warden on 5 June 1847 in Ohio. Lucinda lived 1829-1851, and died in Ohio. No Find a Grave memorial for her as yet. They had two children: Sarah Matilda and Matilda Jane. Would you include this info on William's bio? Thanks.
|Linda Lee Holmes||RE: Edgar Schwartz|
I noticed that, but noted he had the photographs--anyway to merge them? Thanks, Pam.

You have a note that no headstone was found for this man. I ran across a headstone for him yesterday in St. Patrick's cemetery. I found a note in the Cemetery records that he was moved from AOH Block 421 to Block 341 Lot 1. That is where I found his headstone.
|Debbie Hogue||Might be a relative to Joseph Bertrand|
I was visiting Colonial Michilimackinac state park MI Fort and came across his name in the baptismal record. I am also a Bertrand from Quebec Canada, ansestor to Henry Bertrand/Amanda Bertrand who lived in Jefferson South Dakota. Just wanted to see if I was related to Joe.
|James Keppeler||Adolph and Theresa Reichle|
Hi, I was wondering if you could transfer the controls of the memorials of Adolph Reichle and Theresa Reichle to me. I would really appreciate it. If you don't want to that's fine but it would make it a lot easier for me in editing details and adding their relationships. Thanks
