Estella Idine Foust Bush
Hey there, Estella is also my great great grandmother, from my father's side. His mother was Ethel Bush klopfenstein. Thank you for this information. I have so many questions about heritage. I also have some pics of who we all believe to be louisa Foust and John Foust (who looks just like my father, and some with Peter Dwelley bush and siblings. I would love to share these on here if you're interested. Thanks again. Brenda Dean

Robert Emerald Ring
Well, I cleared up one of my own questions -- Robert "Howard" Ring did marry A. Irene Denlinger. For some reason, in my previous message, "Robert H." didn't connect. He was the one who named all his kids after gemstones. My, my, my, the love letters worked. :-)

53656622 Robert Emerald Ring
Hello -
I'm an archivist at the Elkridge Heritage Society and have a file on the Rings. I have just contacted Rhonda Cowen, who first put in memorials for a lot of the Rings, but she has much info wrong. Your memorials were entered after hers and are therefore duplicates. This is very confusing.

You seem to have the correct info for Robert Emerald Ring. What is confusing to me is that you have his mother as "Alice" and Rhonda Cowan has her listed as "Ann" -- please, which is it? Are you related to the Rings? What is your resource info?

(An aside problem for me is that I have love letters dated from 1887 to 1907 between A. Irene Denlinger (of Mineral Hills, Carroll Co.) and R. Howard Ring - they were engaged to be married and as far as I know, got married. Yet the tombstones don't reflect that.)

Also, you have them in the Ring-Caples Cem. (which seems correct) and Rhonda Cowan has them in Andover Cem. Are they the same place in Linthicum?

Please contact Rhonda Cowan and get the duplications sorted --
and please contact me directly at
Thanks for your attention to this. I appreciate any and all help you can give me.

Hugh Luke Degnan, Find A Grave Memorial# 51377243

We may have corresponded some time ago. I'm afraid I haven't been able to find past messages between us, if so.

This gentleman is my 3x-greatuncle. He was the brother of my 2x-great-grandmother, Anna Elizabeth Degnan Carre (1839-1919) of Rockford, Illinois.

Their parents were Michael Luke Degnan and Ann Mary Cullen. They had three other sisters, Mary (1835-1905), Sarah (1838-1924) and Bridget Mary (1843-1920)

The family came from County Roscommon, Ireland. They first lived in New York and New Jersey, where Ann Mary Cullen Degnan died.

Michael then married Bridget Dolan (1835-1900), and they had Louis "Luke" Francis (1861-1929), Michael Jay (1864-1929) and Annie "Fannie" M. (1867-1949).

Michael, Bridget and their children moved to Rockford, Illinois. Of Michael's older children all but my 2x-great-grandmother, Anna Elizabeth, went on to Beloit, Wisconsin.

Have more family information if you're interested.

Shirt-tail Cousins
Hi, David - Thanks for posting the notes about John T Foust and Maggie. They are my maternal great great grandparents as well. David E, their son was my grandfather and Arthur was my grandfather.

One issue that bothers me and the only record that isn't matching up is all the Census records and such show David as born in 1871, yet his gravestone in this same cemetery shows 1879. I am not 100% certain the 2 Davids are the same. If there is any light you can shed on this mystery, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again and I will continue my research to see if I can solve this mystery.

The Fousts
Hi David: Just found the images of the gravestones of John Tyler Foust and Margueritte Louisa Wayne Foust. They are my great-great grandparents, too. My gg-grandmother was Serena Foust Daugherty (I have seen many different spellings of her name). She and my great-grandfather, Ed Daugherty, are buried in the cemetery in Boscobel. I enjoy finding all of these postings; I need to visit the graves sometime in the near future. Thanks for posting these!

I noticed your picture of Ludwig Heise, who is an ancestor of my cousins through Lotta Klitch and her daughter Clara Holtgreve. Do you have any more pictures like these? Do you know anymore about the Rabbe family (Lugwig's wife)?
Thank you,
Erica Lee Berquist

RE: Nellie Bernhardt
You didn't happen to get the picture of Paula Bernhardt's headstone? She may be related, I'm going to do some research tonight and tomorrow to see.
