Alfred M. Love
I am Betty Love Pate and I live in Tupelo, MS. When moving back to Mississippi, I knew I wanted to find out about my father's ancestors. I have known very little and as is the habit of younger people I didn't take advantage of older people when younger.
My daddy was Alford Burr Love born in Miss., Grandfather- John Ellis Love born in Miss, Great grandfather- John Jefferson Love born in AL. Great, Great grandfather- Alfred M. Love born in TN.
Alfred married Mary Ann Burton in 1844 in Chambers Co. AL. She was born in GA and Willis Burton's name was a part of the information included at their marriage. I assume he was her father, his age was right. Alfred and Mary Ann are on the 1850 census in Chambers Co, District 19 1/2 census with two sons, James and John. She has, at least, 2 more children by Love, William C. and Mary J. the last one was born in 1854. By 1860 she is in Carroll County, Miss, married to a Richard Pyron and has a 2 year old child by him. If you know anything of Alfred M. Love, I would certainly appreciate any information. I believe he may be a son of John Love buried in Old Harmony cemetery.

RE: Huff Roberts Cemetery
My wife is related to the Day's. Jonathan Day is her great great grandfather. Her great great grandmother is listed in one Census as E E A Day, and another as Eliza Ann Day. No marriage record can be found and no one can find her maiden name. As I mentioned no one can find a tombstone even though someone did list them as being buried at the site of the current Carter home at Busy Corner. My wife has never heard of the trunk you mentioned at Kentwood. I did notice that there is another Day Cemetery in La near Kentwood when I was looking at the maps for you. Maybe I will take a trip that way when we go down. Thanks for the info. Have a great hunting season. Hope you bring a trophy!

RE: Huff Roberts Cemetery

As you probably know there are three different "Day" Cemeteries in the area. The Hoff-Roberts is the one you are looking for. It is on Old 24 Compromise Rd. If you will do a Google maps search for "Day Cemetery, Amite, MS" you should come up with all 3 cemeteries. I copied the map and intended to send it but this box won't let me copy it in. Find A Grave has all 3 and I have visited all of them. Tried to take pictures of everything but I missed a few. Still looking for Jonathan Day (b. 1796 ) who is supposed to be in smallest cemetery at current Carter house (formerly Jonathan Day house) but as far as I can tell he's not. There are however 4 markers which look blank. That kind of stuff really makes doing this interesting. If you can't find it on Google, send me your email and I'll send a copy of the map. Amite Co historical and Genealogical Society is having an open house on Dec 14 at a member's house drop by if you are nearby on that date. I live in Brandon, Ms but my wife and I are going down on Friday Dec 13 and coming back on the 15, we volunteered to help out on Saturday. Good luck to you.

Arelia Medlock
Thank you so much for linking Arelia's memorial to her parents'. I am trying to locate all 12 of John Covington Bright's children's graves.

Thanks again.
