I am a retired mechanic-truck driver (3516/3531) and a former Marine Veteran, May 1965-May 1971. Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Division, Vietnam DMZ 21 months May 1966-Feb 1968.|
I try to take the most legible pictures I can. I believe in recording history for future generations. This is the best way I know to HONOR and Remember the deceased. I am adding memorials from books and graveyards so others can find their friends and family members.
If you would like some one transferred to you just ask. -(USE THE EDIT TAB)- on the memorial you want transfered. Glad to do links and I will add obituaries to BIO section also. (USE THE EDIT TAB!)
If I can help you with information let me know.
Semper Fidelis Sgt. Ed Elstan
Any pictures I have added you are welcome to use them for your personal use.
A GENTLE REMINDER....please DO NOT SCAN obituaries and post in photo section. Per Find A Grave guidelines, they need, instead, to be typed and submitted as an addition to the bio section with the names of the living removed. Thank you.

Thank you for taking and posting a photo of William Howard Baughcum's grave marker in the High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lamar County.
Much appreciation for your time and effort.
|Kathy T.||RE: Cameron|
you're welcome. The cemetery tends to be a difficult Cemetery to find markers as it is not easily navigated.

Dear Sgt Elstan: Thanks for your service. I know your sacrifice as my husband was in Vietnam and my Dad served in Korea. My husband and I are in the process of placing burial markers on our relatives that do not have one. As of this date we have place several. We came across a family burial plot at Stripling Chapel in Carrollton Georgia. My husbands great uncle John T Hendrix is buried in section 1 row 11. There are 6+ unmarked graves until the plot of infant Crider
Also in the same area is Husbands great grandparents
Pvt Henry W and Frances Hendrix. Between them and Katie Farmer (1901-1901) are 3 unmarked graves. Then there are 2 unmarked graves between them and Peninaah Hagan.
Is there any way you can find whose burial plots these are ? If it is family we want to place markers.
Thank in advance. If this is not possible please direct me as to how to find out. The Cemetery Committee at the church told me the records were destroyed. Thanks so much

Hi Sgt. Elstan - Thanks for adding him. He would have been so happy. He was very military and contributed articles everywhere, I think, even to the Air Force Times.
Anyway, I don't have any current pictures. But I will get in touch with his family and get one to you.
Thanks again for your great work.

Dear Sgt. Elstan
I'm sure you don't remember me, but I am Joann "Peppy" Kaplet Duff. You helped me put my brother's obituary on Find a Grave. (Dush "Dutch" Kapelet.
I'm writing to you because my brother-in-law just died. He served three years in Navy and 23 years in Air Force. Retired as Master Sergeant.
He was cremated and had his ashes scattered. Is it possible for his obituary to appear on Find A Grave.
His name is Clarence O.Dargie and his obituary is on the Davis-Watkins Funeral Home website in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
I would appreciate it if you could see what you can do?

Hi Sgt Ed - Thank you for your service. My ex husband served in Viet Nam around the time you were there. He was in the Army. It was a difficult time for the men who served, no matter what their job or branch of service. However, from what I have read, the marines took the brunt of it.
Thank you for your generosity and hard work for the Find a Grave community. And for your service to our country.
My 2nd cousin, Mathew Yates b. 1801, was buried in the Hopeful Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dear Sgt. Elstan -
Wiliam Wright is my 4th g-grandfather. I just sponsored his memorial and I was wondering if you would consider transferring him to me. I will take good care of him and add all of his children to his website.
Could you also tell me whether there is a headstone for him if you know?
Thank you so much.
