Re: Rankin
I was thinking I thanked you, if so I apologize. I can understand you not researching the Rankins, since he is not blood kin. I'm just the opposite. I guess I'm basically a nosey person. I see an interesting name and I start researching out of curiosity.

Anyway, thanks for your quick response.

William Scott
Humphrey Posey Scott and Rachel Ann Wood are my 4th great grandparents. I have been researching their family tree for several years now but there are so many inconsistencies in their records and family trees on Ancestry.com. I do know that they had a son named William Scott.

All I have on William is that he was born sometimes in April of 1793 in South Carolina. I believe that he married Rachael Stiles on 19 Dec 1829 in Orange County North Carolina. He died sometimes during Jan of 1882 in Haywood County NC.

I believe William's father was Eli Scott and his mother was Celia Goodyear.

Viele, Family line
Patricia, I replied to your request to view my genealogy web site at:http://www.phppitzer.com/index.php before I read your information on Find A Grave. In my genealogy I have some different or missing information. My 3rd great grandparents as I have them recorded are, Jesse Viele (1779-1863) and wife Charity Ann Fitch (????-????) with three children:
1. Eva Viele (1810-????) married to a Mr. Spikerman.
2. Salley Ann Viele (1814-1883) married to John Carris (1804-1883)- These are my 2nd great grandparents.
3. Catherine Viele (1819-1900) married to Niles Noyes (1808-1883).

I have no information of Jesse Viele is wife being named Sally (Sarah) Fitch, or daughter named, Melissa J. Viele who married Samuel Stewart Scott.

If what you say is true, and I have no reason to suspect other wise, we are connected, distant cousins. I have very poor documentation on the Viele family line, would be interest to learn what information you have. You may contact me direct via my e-mail phillip.pitzer@gmail.com
Regards, Phill

Sweetie you can e-mail me directly at skdean55@hotmail.com. sounds to me the social standing may have been the reason as he had connections to George Washington. By the way where is her hubby?

RE: Elizabeth Fisk
First I took some good pics yesterday, all 3 are standing. have my grandson so will send them later and consort to my understanding means that the person is a wife but may not be of the same social standing...or maybe they did not have benefit of a minster for their wedding...mainly the first tho. Also we see it here alot but I have only seen it one time in ref of a man being the consort.
