Thanks for the wonderful photo additions and children's names. I sent an edit requesting addition of the parents to the creator of Walter Franklin Butler's memorial.

Whoops! I have now changed her mother's maiden name from Spencer to Spence. Thank you for letting me know of this error.

Photo of Nathaniel Washington Rochelle
Who is the lady in the picture with Nathaniel Washington Rochelle? My ancestor was Patience Rochelle, an older sister.

Thank you,

Barbara Cunningham

Thanks for posting the wonderful photograph. However...could you possibly crop the photo to remove the white border per Find A Grave guidelines and repost? Thanks!

RE: Patience Farrow
Yes, that is what I recall from other records too -- that the Patience who married Captain Thomas Farrow was the widow of John Rochelle. I think that explains it.

RE: Patience Farrow
Yes. Patience was 81 at her death. I can see that on my copy of the picture. Perhaps the bottom of the photo got cut off a bit on "Find A Grave".

Also, Patience was the third wife (not second). I have a photo of the other grave marker right next to Captain Farrow -- that of Anne Nancy Pattillo Farrow -- and her tombstone says she was Captain Farrow's second wife. I have seen that publication you mentioned and I believe it has the two wives erroneously listed in reverse order. At least that's my best guess, based on all the data about this.

Are you a Farrow descendant?

RE: Farrow Plantation
Hi Sloan,

Yes, Patience Rochelle Farrow is buried at the family plot of Captain Thomas Farrow, her husband. That is sometimes referred to as the "Farrow Plantation", although their graves are in the woods now. And, yes, I have a photo of her tombstone.

I will put it up on Find-a-grave soon.

Are you a descendant of Thomas Farrow (1755-1843)?

RE: Rochelle surname
Hi, no I'm not related to him. Most of my listings are for random people I find while exploring graveyards. If you're related to him, I'd be happy to transfer him to you. Just let me know :)

Dr. Mary Jane Rochelle
No relationn to your William Rochelle. Dr. Rochelle was my grandfather's sister. All born England. She never married. Arrived in USA in 1884 with her parents and siblings. Lived in Norristown, Montgomery, PA, then moved to Philadelphia where she graduated from Women's Medical College. Went out west for medical reasons.
