Is the lady at Williamsburg still living? I talked to one of the older residents of the area but she said she had heard the name Buzby but couldn't remember something that tragic happening in that area. If you have her name and you think she is still living I would love to make a trip to talk to her.

Thanks again for your info. I am planning on sharing the info with my friend Gary. It was such a sad situation I can certainly understand why no one would want to discuss it. It makes an interesting story and it has certainly intrigued me with just the little I have learned. Is your mother buried close to the area with the Busbys or is she in the newer part of the cemetary? If I ever find more information I will contact you and share. I am sure my friend will be happy to get the additional information you have supplied. Thank you again for contacting me. If you happen to run across anything else please let me know. Thank you for your kindness

RE: Calvin and Rosa Busby
Thank you so much for contacting me. I live in Oak Hill and I have lots of family in the Lewisburg area. I went to the cemetary to locate the graves for my dear friend Gary Busby. He is the son of Rosa and Calvins son. His dad never talked about it until about five years before he passed away. I went to Wallace and Wallace who was on the death certificates but the gave me the find a grave site. Then I went to the historical archives in Lewisburg to see if they had obits or newspaper articles. There I got copies of the death certificates and just a small piece from the paper. I was able to send this to my friend Gary but it is such an interesting story I was hoping to locate more. Gary lives in Atlanta and I want to go back to see if I can locate the graves. Hopefully with your info I can find them. Do you know the reason for the shooting. I think Betty is still living but I am sure he doesn't want to bring up the history of this shooting. Does your mom live in the Lewisburg area. If you can share any more info please contact me again. I didn't know if I would be able to get answers but I was so happy to get your message today. It was such a tragic thing to happen on Dec 23 right before Christmas. My friends dad was in the house and witnessed it and that is probably why he never wanted to talk about it. His brother Albert raised him. Looking forward to hearing from you again. I will use your instructions when I return to the cemetary

I have been trying to locate the graves at Morningside cemetery in Renick. I see that the picture of the tombstone was added in 2009. Would you be able to give me directions as to locating the grave. I was there Saturday but could not find it. Also if you have a clearer picture of the tombstone it would be greatly appreciated. Also this is a murder/suicide if you would have any additional information on it I would greatly appreciate it. My email is

I was wondering if you could give me some directions on how to find the Phillips Cemetery in Saulsville WV??

The headstones that you took pictures of and posted - are those the only ones that were readable by chance??

Thanks for your help!!!

Best regards,

I am Dennis Boyer, Secretary, Arkansas Society, National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. I am a volunteer working on updates of the SAR Patriot Index, now available on line at Jesse Ray is among my assignees, and I have located your photo at his memorial. We anticipate eventually being able to include photos, where available, with the Patriot's listing, so I am asking your permission to download and prepare for posting your photo.

Thanks for your good work.

Gambill Fam Cem and Gambill Cemetery-Ashe Co., NC
I am writing to ask for your assistance in straightening out the Gambill cemeteries in Ashe Co., NC. This week I visited the Gambill Family Cemetery at the location shown on the cemetery page map. I figured out that Gambill Family Cemetery was a combination of 2 Gambill cemeteries and the cemetery page has photos from both cemeteries on it. (The second 2 photos are at the location where I was and the first is at the other Gambill cemetery.)
I have created a second Gambill Cemetery and named it Gambill Cemetery (as opposed to Gambill Family Cemetery). I believe that your 4 memorials at Gambill Family Cemetery belong in Gambill Cemetery.
It would be quite helpful if you know the location of Gambill Cemetery (ie the location where your photos were taken). I feel certain it is nearby also in the Chestnut Hill area. I have already gotten about 20 memorials moved from Gambill Family Cemetery to Gambill Cemetery so it would also be helpful if you would move your 4 memorials also.
Please let me know if you have any questions or additional information to add.
