George Free - Pine Grove Cemetery
Hi Patricia,
I checked the library today to shee if/where George Free is buried in Pine Grove. I did find his name listed, but no lot number. I drove the cemetery. It is a mess, quite frankly; it is kept up by the city and they don't really have the funds or manpower to do it well. When, infrequently, the grass is cut, the cuttings are left in place. Eventually, they cover the slabs, which then are buried beneath. Stones are broken, and some have fallen over. Some have been removed. Not a pretty sight. Since I could not find a record of the lot, I did not search; some of it is almost to the point that only goats can make their way up/down the hill. I'll send you some photos of the grounds via regular email, if you let me know that you want to see them. Now, then...I'd be happy to go to the library and look for an obit; it might provide some compensation for not being able to find his stone. Let me know, please. Thanks, Linda

Patricia, I'm sure that you have heard the old saying how "The Lord works in mystrious ways"? Wellllllll, the other day when I went to the cemetery to fulfill your request, I was also fulfilling someone elses and silly me took the wrong picture for this other person. So, I get to go back! I'm not sure that I can make it before Christmas but I know I'll get there right afterwards and I will get those other grave markers for you and your family.
Your message blessed me so very much and as I'm typing this, tears of joy are running down my cheeks. Thank you so very much for allowing me to feel the joy that comes from serving others!
Merry Christmas,
Mary Helton
