RE: Thank you
Lois,

I don't know if you recall, but I completed a photo request for Olga & Charles Casson.
I was at the Fawkner cemetery recently and enquired about the final resting place of Charles. Cemetery records confirm he has been buried with Olga, however the headstone doesn't reflect this.

Christopher & Karl Hakanson
Thank you for the information on these two men! I will be retaining their names as they were after they emmigrated to the US, but will include their birth names in the bio so those are also available to researchers. I have also put links in the bio between the brothers.

Thanks again,
Larry

RE: Mary McCort
You are welcome. Next time I pass through, I will take another pic...it had just started to rain when I found Mrs. McCort.

Double lives
Regarding your memorial:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=65124540

It seems that Richard James Van Fossan had 2 lives.
He was also known as James H. Vance.

Please see the following news abstracts about him:
Van Fossen, J.H. -- *see entry for James H. Vance.
Van Fossen, R.J. -- bur. 8/1886 at Mansfield Cem., blood vessel; 53y [Mansfield Herald: 21 October 1886]

Vance, James H. -- J.H. Vance, who dropped dead Monday night, was buried Tuesday afternoon. The body was taken to the jail, on the way to the cemetery, to let Mrs. Vance take a look at the body of her late husband. It was discovered that Vance is an assumed name, and the real name of the deceased was Van Fossen. [Mansfield Herald: 19 August 1886]

Vance, James H. -- Pavonia. Last night at about half past nine o'clock James Vance dropped dead at his residence in Newman's addition. He had been up town and had just returned. He was in the act of rubbing his wife with liniment when he threw up his hands to catch his head saying that he had a great pain. Mr. Vance was about 40 years old and leaves a wife and several children. He was a stone-cuter by trade. A postmortem will be held today. Dr. Reed was called but when he arrived life was extinct. [Mansfield Herald: 19 August 1886]

Mrs. Abbie Van Fossen, otherwise known as Mrs. Vance, is again at her home in Newman's addition, having recovered from her recent fit of insanity. [Mansfield Herald: 26 August 1886]

Mrs. Abbie Van Fossen, the woman who has temporary fits of insanity, has removed to Newville. It is rumored that her husband Vance changed his name from Van Fossen because he had another wife. [Mansfield Herald: 02 September 1886]

Further regarding Olga, while I don't have an exact date I can tell you she was born in 1909 in Brunswick (an inner suburb of Melbourne), her father was Albert Wilson and her mother was Rose Emma (nee Jordon) Wilson

RE: Thank you
Lois,

You are very welcome and I was glad to help, however, are you saying Charles is buried with Olga, or is he buried elsewhere in Fawkner ??
