I have been researching my family since about the age of 16.

The oldest ancestor is Barnabas (Barney) Michael born abt 1769 in North Carolina. He was first found in Jefferson County, TN about 1800 and by 1805 was in Grainger Co., TN.on a tax roll with 150 acres of land, and also there in the 1820 Census. Barney was age 81 in the 1850 census of Carroll Co., GA. and then no further record of death and burial.

He and wife, Catherine Had children, Barnabas B., James, William, Peter, Katherine and Sarah.

I am descended from his son, William, then William Russell, then William Lumpkim and then Claude Jerome Michael and then Elmer E. Michael

James & Nell Tucker Photo
Thank you for posting the pics of James & Nell Tuckers grave marker. Mr Tucker was my High School principle and influenced my life greatly. They both will be missed. Again thank you and may you have a Merry Christmas and may God Bless.

Nell and James Tucker
I just wanted to clarify something. I also volunteer in the Huntsville area. I received a request for Nell and James. I have been to the grave site twice in search of them. When I got home to "fulfill" the pictures, I found that you had already claimed them. I don't even see a picture of the grave sites. While we are all in this together, I went to a lot of work to get this done and credit for it. But I won't get credit. While I don't want to start trouble, I am upset about this.

RE: Thank you-Alexander Bowie gravesite
Glad to assist in some manner; the black and white photo's attached to the cemetery itself depict there were only 5 graves in an 'L' shape eighty years ago, with the unbroken slab at the base being that of his wife Susan B. Jack Bowie (d.1868). I was able to locate and position most of her slab's fragments when I was there last year, but those are still the only visible grave markers.

RE: Agnes J. Davis
I think I know what happened. I had posted the obituary and those dates were the last line. I bet those dates were actually the first line of the next person obituary in the paper. I've corrected it now. Thanks for catching that! Since she's a relative, do you want me to transfer management to you?
