Bio and Links
I am sort of a newcomer to this hobby (obsession). I have been working on my trees on and off for several years now. I have always been interested as to where I came from, but unfortuately no one was alive to even get me started. But just recently, doors have rapidly began to open! I'm so interested, that some days I lose all track of time. My roots are from the families of: Tate TN, Johnston TN, Huddleston WV and Miller KY.

Hello Janice,
Cool! What family members of James Tate did you descend from? I descended from his son William Tate,B.1701 and then Captain William Tate b.1738, and then Jesse Tate b.1768,then Isham Tate b.1810 then David Crockett Tate b. 1836, Then Ell Roy Tate b.1884, then my dad Wayne Dewitt Tate b. 1922. Do you have a tree on Ancestry?

Job Huddleston
I believe the Job Huddleston that the cemetery was named for was born in 1800 and died in 1855. He was the son of John Paddy Huddleston. Are you sure this Job was your grandfather (there are several Job names in different generations of the Huddleston family). This would make John Paddy (1771-1862) your Great Grandfather. Is this correct? And that would make either Andrew Jackson Huddleston (died between 1900-1910) or James Allen Huddleston (died in 1880) your Father. Is this correct?

You're more than welcome, Janice. It's fun to get out now that the weather is so nice. I looked for other Tate's, but didn't see any.

RE: Albert Huddleston
Jobe Huddleston's daughter Alice Jane married James P. Tucker. They had a son, Little Demick Tucker who is my grandfather. My mother was Genevieve Tucker Bolles. I would like to send you a copy of the handwritten note from my grandfather written in 1955. I could not activate your email listed on this site. Please email me at

RE: Samual Jahue Tate
Glad to do it. I also got several other pictures of Tate burials there. They are probably related to Samual. I'm in process of adding them. Will take a day or so and then you may want to check the Unity records again.

RE: Woodman of America
Thanks Janice. I've added him to my virtual cemetery. I keep my eye open for WOW markers when I'm photographing cemeteries. There are some very unique ones.
