I'm an author (books available on Amazon)and I love to do genealogy: upperlevelgen.blogspot.com |
I am willing to transfer memorials if you are a direct relative and I have no personal ties. Feel free to use the pictures I post, just give credit by posting my name or providing a link back to the memorial in any work you produce.
The purpose of this work is to tie families together. Let's be civil and use the "golden" rule when communicating.

Your welcome, I would take the credit but it's my gf who did the work I just drove and lent my phone. The grass is really the only upside to Iowa but I'm a West coast desert rat so ya give me some brown diet lol

I rejected your changes because I could not find anything to corroborate the information that you provided. I am trying to prove all information on my memorials.
This could be the Elizabeth that you are looking for, so I am going to transfer to you, that way you can make whatever changes you wish.

That's a really long time to wait, but that cemetery is in a very rural area on a dirt road, so I'm not too surprised. I went there to take a photo for a memorial created by an old friend and did a bunch of photo requests at the same time. Yours was one I really wanted to find as I have Brittons in my family, but from NJ/PA, not up here. You might want to check the History of Surry, NH as it has an extensive genealogy of the Britton family in the Keene, NH area. I haven't managed to link any of them to my Brittons, but I know there is quite a write-up on them and that book has been very reliable in my research in the Keene/Surry, NH area.

Appreciate your thoughts. I know what you mean about the birth date. Since she is not who I directly come from I have really only a feeling and guess that this is her. I am a member of the Taylor Association and work with them. I will ask a fellow I work closely with what he thinks.
Keep you posted.

Thanks, I agree -- too much conflicting data to determine which is correct until proper research is done on both women. They may or may not be the same person.

Regarding your memorial for Elizabeth Durdell Smith Taylor --
Birth: Dec. 3, 1822, England
Death: Jan. 1, 1891
Third wife of Allen Smith [Allen Taylor?]
Your data agrees with my records. Your note says the cemetery office claims no record of this person.
I just found another memorial for Elizabeth Smith Taylor in the Lyman Cemetery, includes photo of headstone...born Burbage, died Loa, etc. This Elizabeth appears to be the same person, but look at the dates recorded on the headstone!
Birth: Dec. 11, 1829
Death: Jan. 1, 1887

Your welcome, I am happy to help..here is one other stone there that is broke off and the only thing that appears to be on it is Jan 15 1851..which is at the bottom section of the stone, I am wondering if that is Nathan or Mary, or maybe even both. If you have any information to connect with this date, that might solve the mystery. I am going back out again to double check the whole old section to make sure I have not over looked.
I discovered the grave of my 5 x grandfather, Thomas Burroughs. However it was NOT LOL. Your one and mine were both Christened 23 September 1683 at Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire, England.
Son of Katheren Foards and Richard Burroughs of Staverton, Gloucester.
Frank Burroughs' father traced this back in the 1960s, but I see you have a bit extra, namely that the father was of Staverton. This is where the problem must lie. My source died over 30 years ago and the book he recorded all this in does not give any more than the date of baptism. The crucial part, the burial, he does NOT give which means we have 2 men of the same age in the same area. I think yours is the right one for the burial, but mine for the baptism. Please prove me wrong!
I think the answer will lie in the marriage of the parents in 1671. My source said Phillimore has this record but the Vicar of the parish says it is not there.
This ref does not help either
