Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been involved with genealogy since Jan. 1965. The study of history has always been a passion with me which evolved into searching out the history of my own families and, also, led to my preoccupation with old cemeteries. After over 50 years of involvement with genealogy I no longer consider it a hobby - rather more of a compulsive passion.

Now that I am retired I can devote full time to my four favorite passions: gardening, genealogy, old cemeteries and developing my self sustaining homestead.

Find-A-Grave serves two important purposes. First, it provides a memorial for a person who has passed from this earthly existence into eternity. It is a way to remember that person and all that was so wonderful about him or her. Second, it provides information to family members about their relatives. This is especially important the farther one goes back in the generations, because our familiarity with these people declines as our distance from them increases. (I copied this from S.R.F. (#47738583. It says what I want to say but much better)

As for FindAGrave - If you want to use my grave photos on other web sites or your family tree, there is no need to ask. But please credit me. If you want a photo on additional Find A Grave memorials, such as when there is a double stone, please ask me to post those so I don't find my photos with your name on them. You can post only grave photos that you yourself took.

This permission to use my photos does not apply to personal or family photos. Please ask first about those.

I willingly accept corrections, transfers, and link requests, but PLEASE DO IT FROM THE MEMORIAL PAGE as it is so much easier. It gives me all the info I need.....along with your request, of course!

John

Thanks for the reply, John. I'll continue looking and will see what a Google search of the obituary turns up.

Location
Hi John:
I noticed that Clair Fletcher is the most recent interment in the Breeding/Ratliff cemetery with an interment date of March 2016. My great-great grandfather, Pvt. Frederick Ratliff is buried there as well, but I have been unable to locate the cemetery. Can you help with this or at least point me in the right direction, perhaps to the local funeral home that assisted with Clair Fletcher's interment?

RE: Lewter/Worley
My relationship would be through Thomas Luter, but I haven't proven the connections. The Lewter name got change to Luter, who is the last name of a kid my great grandfather adopted. This area of my family tree is sketchy. If you know of information documenting connections to the Worley family, I would appreciate if you could point me to it.
