I learned of this website when a memorial page was created for my brother in law Paul Banner Jr. Through sponsoring and adding photos to his page I became intrested in volunteering to take photos for people who are tracking ancestory and graves. I love to take pictures and I love to help people so seemed like a great new hobby for me. I have also decided to start making memorial pages and possibly get into tracking ancestory and genealogy. Of course if I do i will be starting with my own family. (Butner, Smith,Tuttle, Petree, Turney/Fopiano, Moss, Black, and Ring) So as of now I'm going to try this out in my free time from working and being a very busy wife, and mother of four, and we will see where it takes me. If I have added someone from your family and would like me to transfer ownership please ask I will be glad to... I think these pages should be personal and made with love. I want to treat people as I would want to be treated. I have met some very nice people on here willing to help and some rather rude ones as well. Thanks|

John is my 2 great grandfather and I was wondering if you have a source for his military info you have on his memorial. I am trying to do some family research. Thanks for your help.
|SleepingDog||Effie Butner Meadows|
I had come across the obituary for Effie, and had added it to an entry that was made for her in Lakeview Cemetery in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC.
But when I went to try to connect her to her parents, I discovered that you have an entry for her already (without her married name). You had the earlier entry--and all of the connections.
Maybe you could add her last name of Meadows---and put her in Lakeview Cemetery and notify the other person of the dupe.
I'll add the obituary to your entry also.

Wow, sounds like you have had a difficult year dealing with everything. I'm so glad you were able to get your daughter the healthcare she needed to survive! I hope she has been able to succesfully manage her diabetes so she can live the life she wants to.
I was working really hard on the ancestry stuff but had a stroke a few months ago and was recently diagnosed with a disease in most of my major arteries. Needless to say I haven't been working on the family tree lately. I'm only 45 so this has been a life altering change for me and I'm still meeting with many specialists and finding out the extent of the disease. It's looking like I will have to travel from Oregon to New York to see the top specialist in this rare disease.
Anyway, sorry you had the experiences with the rude guy, how wierd!
I have to refresh my memory on my tree to see if we're related. I'm sure we are distant cousins somewhere! I'll start getting back into the tree this weekend. Are you on facebook? It might be easier to communicate on there.
I just discovered this website today and have already located photos of my relatives I have never seen! Thank you so much for sharing the info. I'm in Oregon so don't have access to the cemetaries or locations. I've visited the family homestead twice on Butner Road in Pinnacle but that was many years ago. My father doesn't have many photo's of his family since he joined the navy and moved to California when he was 18.
Briana (Butner) Williamson
John and Anna Butner were my great-grandparents! "Grammaw Butner" is legendary!
