Disregard most of my last message to you. I forgot I had created a memorial for Catherine Alabama. Do you want to call Elmwood, or do you want me to do it. I will transfer her memorial to you if you want it. Jean

Susan; Catherine Alabama Hoffman (Huffman) Powell, Mary Allen Powell's mother, is buried between Allen Holt and Kate Holt, his second wife. Will you call Elmwood and have them uncover her marker, or do you want me to do it? You may create a memorial for her, or do you want me to do this? She should be linked to her father, Luke Hoffman in the Dutch Bend Cemetery and her husband, James Zachery Powell. Let me know anything you want transferred to you (James Zachery Powell?).

Hi Susan! I sent an email to your personal email account. It showed that it didn't go through, although it is in my "Sent mail". Let me know if it came through to you. If it did, you can answer through the direct email to the museum. Is all this clear as mud? :) Marsha

Wow! I have searched for a long time trying to figure out who "Laura J." was without success. I really appreciate your input.
I have been unable to find Thomas & Laura in the census records prior to 1900. I'm reasonably sure they were in Indian Territory.
Do you know their marriage date? With a child born in 1871, I would guess 1870. Also, I show Thomas and Laura were the parents of at least 4 children - but I do not have the name of a 4th child. Perhaps Vian cemetery records will provide the name of the missing child.
Again, I appreciate your help and look forward to seeing what further info you might receive. THANKS.

Please look at both images, I have altered the overview to show where Marion L is. It was raining all day the first time I went and I did not step into any depressions because I had on street shoes.

I was able to dig out enough turf to uncover his stone, but could not get a good picture, it would have to be pulled up and reset. It will get covered again otherwise. I did get enough of an image to show that it was there and posted it.
No evidence of any POWELLS or anyone else in the Lot, but it takes a special tool, which I do not possess, to poke through to find buried markers.

...is there any way you could get Lee Stoudenmire to take more high resolution "marker" shots (of any graves) @ Dutch Bend Cemetery ?...send them to me if you so choose...
thank you, Roger

I appreciate your adding photo to memorial for Mary Magdalene Whetstone Stoudenmeyer but it is illegible. If there is anyway you can redo photo so it will enlarge when clicked on, everyone would greatly appreciate the gester.

I have photos of their stones if they are related to the family. If you place the memorials, I will post the photos.
