RE: Frank Newman
David, we do have a connection here!
Frank, age 12 and his brother William, age 14 were living with your family (William and Elizabeth) in 1900 in Butler Township, Franklin County, Indiana.

Their mother Elizabeth E. Tragesser Neuman had died in 1890, and their father Joseph Neuman had died in April 1896, he was ta brother of my g-g-grandmother Mary Elizabeth Neuman Dudley. Joseph and his wife Elizabeth are both buried at St. Philomenia (Wolf Creek Cemetery) just across the road from their home.

William Neuman died in 1901 of "spring fever:, Frank died in 1911 of pneumonia.

I have not thus far found a blood connection between them and your family; so do not know how they both came to live together.

I had it from another researcher that your Elizabeth felt kindly towards my Frank, he was a sickly young man, and treated him as a natural child. This may have been due to her loss of her husband too. My guess is that there may have been a family connection not yet found.

Very little is known of Joseph Newman's line, your line may have tounched into this line, or possibly the Tragesler line, they were quite well to to and established in the area.

Will continue looking for information and let you know if anything is found. Please let me know if you have any information.

RE: Frank Newman
Hi David,
Not sure about Frank. What census are you looking at? In Indiana? What I have thus far are Neumann/Newman in Franklin, Shelby and Marion counties Indiana.

Do you know when he was born? Would be happy to see if there is any connection.

Mary

RE: Henry and Augusta Salzman Klaus
I will transfer both of these memorials. My wife is related to Augusta as 1 cousin, 1 removed. While I don't have a whole lot of information on her I'd be willing to share what I have.

Hilda Ugarte
I visited the Loudon Park Cemetery today and walked section R. I have a copy of the burial plan for this section and was not able to locate a UGARTE stone. Could she have been buried under the Ferguson Name? Let me know what you find out. There is a Ferguson buried very very close to the lot where Hilda should be buried.

Let me know what you find out.

Take care,

RE: Wellington Henderson
Hi David,
I am not related to Wellington Henderson. I enjoy viewing and taking pictures of the old monuments. I am also do genealogy so I also know the joy of finding a relative's monument.

I did a quick check in the census and found W. Henderson and Mary in the 1870 Census Of Crawford Co. In 1870, they were living in Benton township, Post Office: Cuba.
Line 27, #16-16.
W. Henderson, age 40, Born Pennsylvania, Real Estate: 7000, Personal Property: 2000, Occupation: Manufacturing Service? (Second word difficult to read;
Mary, Age 30, RE: 2000, PP:200, Born Ohio;
Wellington, Age 2, Male, Born Missouri;
Also in the same household:
Ella Nolan, Age 25, Music teacher, Born Ohio;
Laura Nolan, Age 4, Born Indiana.

In 1880, Mary Henderson, (age 42) and daughter Lulu, age 12, appear to be living in Webb, Jasper County, Missouri. Mary's marital status is widow. Mary is working in retail and appears to have a boarding house.

Try the SOS Missouri Archives, Death Certificates, for Mary Henderson if she died in MO 1910 or after. Ditto Lulu if her death was before 1953. The site is offline until Tuesday,Sept. 22.

RE: McBride / Ulmer / Nolan
My husband is related to this family. I received a packet of papers from my mother-in-law in 1998 and was told very little about it. There were obituaries, bible records, pictures etc. She filled in the blanks as best she could but I pretty much was on my own. I did have a basic family tree which consists of Pierce William Noland and his first wife, Ella Purvis and their daughter Laura Frank Noland. Laura married George Snider and that is my husbands family. Now Pierce and Ella divorced and he married Mary. She is the mother of Lula which of course makes Laura and Lula half sisters. Ella Purvis Noland is buried in California and I am not sure where Pierce is buried. I would like to see if we can fill in any blanks for each other as this family is a bit confusing to say the least. (Lula's obit lists Laura as her sister so I assumed they were both daughters of Pierce.)
