RE: Plat Shew
I'm sorry but I do not have any information on Plat Shew except what is found on his memorial. His sister, Mary Lee, was married to my cousin thus the reason I left flowers on the Shew memorials. I'm sorry I can't assist you.

RE: Sarah Ellen Estep wife of Wiley Harman
Your question peaked my interest, and so I went searching through many many records and found that Sarah Ellen Estep is the daughter of Jacob Estep and Nancy Moore of Brushy Mountain, NC. She is traditionally not attributed to these parents, but there is one child on the 1840 census that is not mentioned on various family trees that is most likely Sarah. I found her marriage bond, and she married Wiley Harmon in the area in 1846. There was only one family of Esteps in the area and that was Jacob and his descendents. I can say that it is probable that these are her parents, especially with the fact that several of her children are named after other members of that Estep family.

RE: Sarah Ellen Estep wife of Wiley Harman
Sorry but I have no information that tells me who Sarah's parents were.

I found an Allen Estep, b. about 1828 in the 1860 Watauga Co., census.

American Civil War Soldiers

State Served: North Carolina
Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 15 March 1862 at the age of 34.
Enlisted in Company B, 37th Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 15 Mar 1862.

I can't find Allen in the 1850 census.

This may be Sarah's brother, but only speculation on my part.
