I am the oldest child of Harold E. Beard and Daisy Brumfield. I grew up in New Orleans and spent a lot of time on my great grandparents' farm in Salem, Walthall Co., MS. Our family cemetery (Spence) is located there on original property of my ancestor, William Washington Spence.|
I became interested in genealogy at a young age, listening to stories told by my great grandmother, Ettie Spence Pigott. Since then, researching ancestors and related families has become a life-long adventure. It is my favorite hobby and past-time.
I am an educator by profession. I do teacher training at Southeastern Louisiana University.
I have been fortunate enough to have lived abroad in Brazil, and traveled extensively in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. (I have been to thirty countries and every state in the USA.)

Cut and pasted the obit you sent from the Times-Picayune; it is a good example of why obits should be relied upon only as a last resort. Check out the memorial and compare that obit with the one appearing in the local paper.

I would be honored to transfer the brumfields to you if you wish! I do not have a tie to them. They are buried near my family.
Thanks. This is work in progress. I may not should posted until I had review all may notes. I appreciate your help in editing this information. I have tried to link each family line back to their immigration to the United States. By adding to the excellention foundation of family members you have posted.
