No, there is no mention of his mother's death. I will go back and look, but I don't think there is a mention of her death at all.

RE: You are in our prayers...

First, thank you for your prayers. I had Bill transfer the other memorial for Semira over to me. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to remove the photos from the old memorial for Semira and add them to the new one for her. I have transfer all the other info to her new memorial. I am the granddaughter of Jeremiah Jacob Sharum Sr. Who was born on March 6, 1883 to James Dominick and Sabra Ann (Stanley) Sharum. He married Nancy Ann Salmon. Jeremiah was the next child born after Albert Clinton Sharum. My father is Jeremiah Jacob Sharum Jr. I hope this clear up how we are related to each other.

Please let me know when you have removed them

Thank You

I noted that you provided information on John Deloss Timmerman (79954387). John is my 3rd great grand uncle. I have the family bible of John and Rachel Martin (Fuller) Timmerman. It doesn't mention the fact that he did not return from battle, or even that he died in battle. It just has the date of death and under "Burial" it has Sharon Cemetery. It very well could have been that it was put in only for a memorial - but there are two stones - one that he is listed on the headstone of his parents, and the one that is a government stone of his service with the Michigan Calvary. If he died in battle, I would love to find out where.
Thank you for the information you provided, and anything you might have on this.

As I was searching Oklahoma Records for Sharum's. I found marriage records in Roger Mills Co. Oklahoma for Pearl Sharum & S. R. Hicks. They were married in 1927. That's all the infor they gave. I thought you might like you might like to know.

Thank you for the information about his father. I added the family link. Since this is your uncle I transferred his memorial page to you so you can add anything else you may have for him.

Have a great Sunday!

You are welcome. I am glad to be a part of Find A Grave. It is rewarding when family members find their ancestors. If you would like ownership transfered to you let me know and I will get it done.

RE: Location of the cemetery
Hello Chris,
I can give you some directions to the Sharon Cemetery. It is just over the line in Whiteside County, and yes it is in Portland Township. Here are the directions I was given when I went there. " Go north of Geneseo on Route 82. Then right on Route 92 for a few miles to the road at the top of a small incline and turn left. Follow that road and you should see the cemetery eventually." The town of Sharon used to be just south in Henry County.

We are planning to stop there again at the end of March, for a bit more research. I could try to snap a couple of headstone pictures for you, if you have specific people you are looking for. I had family who actually lived in Sharon (a town that no longer exists), one was the postmaster I understand.

Hope this helps.
