|I was born and have lived in Putnam County all my life. My grandfather William Newton Crews came here from St. George, Georgia. My grandmother Mary Knowles Crews was from Clay County, I believe. My mother's parents, Thomas H. Hilliard and Jessie Johns Hilliard were Putnam County natives. My parents were Enoch and Ethel Hilliard Crews. My maternal great-grandmother, Polly Hilliard Cone's family descended from Lowndes County, GA, to Hamilton County, FL and to Putnam County, FL.|
My descendents include, Johns, Wilkinson, Knowles, Green, Crews, Stokes. I am related in some way to most of the original families from Bardin and Bostwick. Many of my Crews relatives are buried in Boones Creek Cemetary, Charlton County, Georgia and around south Georgia.
I have always liked to walk through cemtaries, even if I don't know anyone buried there. I really enjoy touring the online cemetary on Find A Grave. The stories sometimes are so interesting and sometimes so sad. After reading the stories, I feel almost like I knew the person. Thanks to all who have made so many wonderful memorials to their loved ones.

Thank you for your kind words about my aunt and my father. Having our loved ones memories live on, that's what Find A Grave it all about. I've also learned that it is great for geneological research. I have met some wonderful people, and even found some distant relatives.
Wishing you a happy and quiet All Hallow's Eve. (Watch out for the Great Pumpkin!)

Hey Doug... my crews line comes from the Carolina's to Tennessee then on to Red River, Texas. I haven't been able to determine where your line in Georgia & Florida split from my line. I have done tons of research on it.
God bless during the holiest of Sabbaths.

Thank you ! I appreciate your visiting my grandfather. I enjoy reading other's memorials also. It means a lot to make sure they are remembered in a special way,if only by a small glimpse into their lives.
