Bio

I have just recently gotten interested in genealogy. It is so interesting to find out things about my ancestors. I feel like this is a way of being close to my family that have passed on. Some whom I have never even met.

My family line includes the sir names of
McCroskey, Coffee/Coffey, Gandee, Barnhouse, Bird, Shelton, Hurlburt/Holbert, and Whitt. I have just gotten started and so I have a long ways to go.

I think that this web site is an awesome way for us to find family from our past and become aquainted with family that we never realized we even had.

I lost my Father, Jack C. McCroskey 13 Oct 2007 and my Mother, Cyril M. Coffee McCroskey 26 Dec 2007.

Feel free to contact me if there is any way I can help you.

~I found this poem online and it seemed appropriate:) ~

Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone,
The names and dates are chiseled out
On polished marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
Is it too late to mourn?
You did not know that I exist.
You died and years later I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out about the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
