Bio

My name is Bernard Patrick Long. I live in Garland, Dallas, Texas. I am a native "Texan" being born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I graduated from Jesuit High School. I served an enlistment in the U.S. Army, 7th Army (Germany) 14th Ordnance Company. and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in Government & History. I taught High school social studies, grades 9-12, in Port Arthur, Texas. One of the first projects for the students each year in order to get to know one another as well as open family communications was to make themselves a family tree and present it in a oral presentation to the class.

I am the sixth child of eight, a father of 6, grandfather to 11 and a great grandfather to 1.

My interest in genealogy and family history stems from my original research on my maternal grandmother's ancestry (Surname: Watts). I happened upon this website (Find A Grave) by accident and immediately became a fan.

In addition to the surnames Long and Watts, I am also researching the surnames Williams, Cornwell, Casey, Bailey, Bosley, Fazakerley, Keesee, Taber, & Hugo. I also enjoy documenting family information to help other folks find family members.
