Larkin Liles
Hi! I am very excited to see that you posted the grave of Larkin Liles. He is my Great Great Great Great Grandfather's brother and I would love to know where his grave is. My GGGG Grandfather is Henry "Jaybird" Liles. I was able to locate his grave today. I have been told that his father Henry Sr. is buried in the same place as Larkin but I don't know where it is. Can you please contact me and let me know where I can find Larkin's grave. Thank you!

No I'm sorry I don't know the family. We were on vacation and I just took some photos in Greenwood and posted them, in hopes of helping others. I love to take photos, this is a huge and beautiful cemetery.

Hi Pam, I don't have much on the family. Was she from the Warren or Henderson Counties area? I just updated some of the info - for the ones in that cemetery. Since I don't have a connection to them, I can transfer them to you. You can send me your # via my email address. Thanks.

RE: Burntwood Cemetery
I am not aware of any photos available for Burntwood. I can go to the library and see what they have but I am sure it is only a small photo that is taken from a distance. Is there a stone in particular you would like to see? I live about 10 miles from there. I could go look and see what is left if you would like. What is it you are interested in? Carla

Roby Ervin
In the 1920s, the KKK in Central Illinois was not so much based on racial prejudice as rallying against promiscuity and drinking, from what I have read. Maybe that's all it was, but he left an impression on his tombstone, that's for sure! That's the only one I've ever seen with that on it!

Roby Ervin
There were no other Ervin graves near him. All I could find was info on census. Wife Cora A., her maiden name may have been Ralph as brother-in-law Roy Ralph lived with them on the 1920 census. No children. In 1910, listed as J.R. and C.A. Ervin, no children. In 1900, Roby lived with his brother William Ervin and his family, was single at the time. Listed as Railroader/Engineer on all three census, all Springfield, IL.

It's quite an interesting stone, isn't it? Sorry I could not be of more help!
