I have worked off and on for 40 years on my family history and now have gotten hooked on findagrave!--which gives me a break from working on putting my family history books in order! Family names are McKee, Murray, Havens, Low, Pollock, Wright, Humbargar, Bowmaster (Burgermeister), Crowley, Leathers, Hinebaugh, Starkey, Marriott, Kinch, Heels, Holcomb, Adams,Summers, Saunders, Gish, Kinzie, German, VanSkiver, Sturdy, Birckhead, Ripley, Frease, Arbour, Vincent, Scout, Craig, Dyer, Bookout, Clock, Johnson, Stout, Jarrett, Snodgrass, Polley, Fear, Lumpkin -- just to name a few! |
I am married, mother of 2 grown sons and 2 grandchildren. And I am thankful for all the volunteers not only on this site, but others who have helped me so much on my research and I try to help others in theirs. Computers have sure helped!

Hello Patty. Thank you for the information about my family. I will try to answer your questions as best I can. My grandfather was Daniel Edwin Blackmer. His sister was Alice which I had assumed was her nickname however I am looking at the 1900 census and can see that olive could be Alice. Alice was married to William Sorrenson but I don't know what happened to him. According to my father, Daniel Jr blackmer, my
Great Aunt Alice and Uncle Ed were never legally married as he had abandoned and never divorced his wife in the U.S. Ed was quite a character. He lost his house and car when he lived in Bracken in a gambling debt. My Aunt Alice was not able to have children so they traded some land for a child who I believe was a relative. His name was William Ellis McKee but may have been a Sorenson before adopted by Alice and Ed. he may have been related to Alice's ex husband William Sorrenson. William McKee , born 1919, was killed in world war ll near Hanover Germany in 1943. You mentioned a 1921 weyburn census listing Daniel blackmer, wife Ethel Vera sherrow, and daughter was my aunt Maxine not marnie. I have a few other things to research for you and will send another email. Connie

|Shaughn Gray||Wilkinson Gray|
I have run into that information before. I am not sure if it is correct or not. The history book of Randolph County has Wilkinson living with his in laws around age 80 having never married a second time. I have found some possible info that there may have been a second Wilkinson Gray that was a nephew of our Wilkinson Gray. The information that I have is that Wilkinson had a brother named Elijah that also named one of his sons after the famous military Hero, Wilkinson. The dates and ages seemed to show the Wilkinson that married Jennetta was younger than our Wilkinson. I do not have anything positive. That is just what I believe at this point. I haven't tried to Research Wilkinson brother any further.
