Cemeteries - Lower Chanceford, York, PA
According to the York County Heritage Trust & others the following cemeteries are the same.
River Hills, Batty's Chapel, Black Diamond, Mt. Olive. The VA incorrectly identifies it as Mt. Holly.

River Hills Cemetery
A History of Chanceford Township 1997 calls this Mt. Olive Cemetery. The Veterans Administration of York calls it Mt. Holly Cemetery. June R. Grove

River Hills Cemetery
Hi, sounds great, I would love to learn more about that cemetery, do you know any history on it? You can send me the information for the other grave stones, or add them directly. Where is/was the location of the church? Why was the cemetery located here? Glad that you wrote, and hope to learn more!

Thank you
Hi Rebecca, Thank you for the information you posted corrections for. I have added them to the memorials I created. I will look for the graves you posted the next time I am there, and photograph them if they have stones, but I am pretty sure I got pictures of all the stones that are there. Some of the older stones may not have survived, or they might not be marked. Do you know if this cemetery has another name? I labeled it as River Hills cemetery, as no one in the area that I know had any idea if it did or not. What did the funeral home refer to the cemetery as? I am told there is or was a church nearby, but not near the cemetery that most of these people were members of, another story is that there was a church located here, but it burnt down. Any idea of the history? I am very curious about this grave yard, and would love help! Thanks again for the information!
