Thomas Walls

Tom was a little older than me but I went to school with his brother Bob. I knew Tom but not real well. Stumbled on the Saluki band photo at the library while looking for information on other people. Posted the photo because music was very import to Tom.

I also played for the Homewood Market Braves softball team that was managed by Albert Walls.

Albert was a very good man and had a lot of fun working with the softball team. Didn't know he was a Marine.

I started out making memorials for my family then making ones for friends and their relatives.

Thought you should manage Tom's memorial so I transferred it to you.

Not sure if the Bob Walls I see on findagrave is the same one I know? If he is you could transfer Tom's memorial to him.

RE: Albert Walls
Aaron, My family at Arborcrest is Peters, with Lankford and Auton in that same line.

I'm actually from McHenry County, IL. My grandfather, Floyd, was born in St. Elmo in 1905, and orphaned as a child. He ended up with a Farmer/Postmaster near Woodstock who raised him. This has lead me to a lot of research in Fayette and Effingham counties.

His Mother was Clara Grace Eyestone, for what it's worth.

Feel free to use my photo any way you would like, if I come across the original I'll pass it on.

RE: Albert Walls
Aaron, I never did know your grandfather. It is my habit to take pictures of every military headstone I see in a cemetery, and I have family in Arborcrest, so I'm sure on one of my visits I took that photo.

Without a doubt, that plaque was once at his grave. Perhaps it was replaced by the family marker in the other photo on Albert's memorial, if it isn't there now. If the family marker was there when I took my picture I would have shot & posted that too.

I'm not sure what memorial you're referring to. Do you have a link?
