Dear (PEAVY & ROBBINS) Cousin Andy:
It appears that we last corresponded in 2001. It was good to talk with you again.
Your ancestor James Jasper PEVY was first married to Sarah GROSS (licensed 11 Jan 1879 in Effingham County, wed 16 Jan 1879 by Rev. James A. TOOLE). Sarah GROSS PEVY gave birth to their daughter Sarah PEVY in November of the same year and then died of a cold that same month. By the time of the taking of the census in June of 1880, James Jasper had remarried and the new couple were raising his infant daughter, then approximately six months old..

The next family enumerated that day in June of 1880 was that of James Jasper PEVEE's uncle, John M. PEVEE and his wife Mary C. THOMPSON GROSS PEVEE. By her first marriage, Mary was the mother of the late Sarah GROSS PEVY.

You may of course use the three images - I took the photographs of the two stones at Double Heads Baptist Church earlier this year while surveying the cemetery there - I am the great great great grandson of Guilford PEAVY & Dicy MOORE. For your credits, please note that the third image, the photograph of Guilford PEAVY, is courtesy of his great granddaughter, Mrs. Gladys JOYNER DICKEY.
May God Bless You and Your Family,
