|Michael Sharpe||Moore and Covell connection?|
I have been researching Theresa Moore born 1827 Allegany passed 1884 in Illinois. A descendant is looking for her parents etc. and also wondering if there is Native Indian in the family. She married Simeon Lewis Covell in 1849. Interesting that you have Moore and Covell in a relationship. I did find a census record (1850 page 9) that had the same 2 surnames at the same dwelling (Seth Moore and Richard (possibly Benjamin) Covell and their families in Cold Spring, Cattaraugus, NY. Seth born in Vermont. Iím wondering did he have a daughter named Theresa? Another record (burial) indicates her husband Simeon Lewis Covell had a brother named Benjamin (maybe Richard Benjamin?). Richardís wife named Malinda. Simeon and Theresa are in that same census record (page 12) in Cold Spring with 3 children Chauncey, Abigail and Beulah with the last 2 born in Pennsylvania. So Iím guessing there is a connection. Ancestry.com also has a photo of Simeon and his second wife Mary Sweet.
thanks for any help you can provide.
I found a stone that says it is his wife. Esthera Ridout. I have posted it. I did not find Leander

Sue-When you did her bio you described her grandparents as her parents. Her father was (Robert) Seth Moore and her mother a Covell.
