I have found a new enthusiasm in finding as many of my relative's graves as I can. In addition with this, I am currently working on my family trees.
Some family names that I am looking into are: Cromwell, Wilkie, Wynne, Pell on my father's side, and Bruce, Dough, Smith, Whitehurst, Basnight on my mother's side.
I know that as I dig deeper I will find more names in my tree.

Julia Ray Nelson
Thanks Richie for your feedback.

I do have all the connections pertaining to my Bridgers' request to you about my mother, Julia Ray Henley, buried in the Bruce-Whitehurst Family Cemetery. However, I am aware of your message and its contents. It was a thought, but can see why my request is not done universally.

On another note, I am sure you are aware of my sister, Jessie Rae's passing, of Virginia Beach, since she is buried in the cemetery you take care of. That makes two of my siblings sisters passing months apart in 2015.

For your information, my sister living in Chocowinity, North Carolina that passed is Pauline Britt, daughter of Julia Ray Nelson-Peay-Henley,Jimmie Henley's wife.

Pauline was born in September, 1948 and passed January 5, 2015. She was the wife of Carlton Ray Cherry of North Carolina.

Thank you again for all you do, to keep family history alive, in the passing of all our family members.

Col Joseph Bridger

Hello. Can you connect my mother, Julia Ray Nelson-Peay-Henley to Colonel Joseph Bridger?

Col Bridger is I believe my mother's 7th great grandfather.

It is this Colonel I left a message to you before, regarding the St Lukes Church, in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Thanks, if that is possible.

St Luke Cemetary, Isle of Wight County, Virginia
Forgot one important thing to tell you. Mildred Whitehurst and Robert Jones are buried there in St Lukes Cemetery. I find it ironic that a daughter of theirs was so close to me at one time, and their parents final resting place is within the church cemetery that was also the church belonging to one of my ancestors. Incredible!

Your Family

I recall you were interested in your family genealogy.

Are you aware that one of your family line connections is the Sherwood Family of the old Princess Anne County, Virginia?

Secondly, the St Luke Church in Smithfield, was a beloved church of another family member of the Nelson Family.

My mother, Julia Ray Nelson-Brett-Peay-Henley, buried in the Bruce-Whitehurst Cemetary, is a descendant of Colonel Joseph Bridgers, of Isle of Wight County, Virginia. This Colonel Bridgers paid to hire English Workers to come to America and build the tall Bell Tower. He loved his church! His father, Colonel Joseph Bridgers is of the fame in the American Revolutionary War.

Up dates of James and Julia Henley

I have contacted you previously about the Whitehurst family Cemetery on Fitztown Road. There is hardly any information about my mother there. Would you care to receive correct information for her memorial, as well as James Henley?

Will provide if you get back to me, and desire the update information.

The Henley's in Bruce-Whitehurst Cemetery
Richie Lee,

Thank you for your maintaining online the Bruce-Whitehurst Family Cemetery at

I see you are of the Whitehurst heritage. My sister married into your same Whitehurst line also.
My brother-in-law and his daughter are also buried at this cemetery.
