RE: Joel & Belle Smith
Carole,
I do not know who would hold these records. There is a Coal Mountain Baptist Church but I do not know if they are the owners of the cemetery or not.

It appears that Joel and Belle married between 1900 and 1910. Since he lived in Forsyth County in 1900 and they as a couple lived in Forsyth County in 1910, you might try the Forsyth County marriage records. I did a quick search at familysearch.org but did not come up with anything. I also searched ancestry.com and the only lead from there might be a 1900 census with a Belle Bennett born 1882 with her family in Forsyth County.

I hope this might lead you somewhere.

Your welcome. There were several in the cemetery with the same surname. I don't know if you are related to all of them or not but i thought I would include them anyway since I was there.

RE: Charles Tankersley
You are very welcome! There was only one Tankersley plot in the cemetary, and although there was no name on the headstone, I am assuming it belonged to Charles. He was next to N.C. and Mrs. N.C. Tankersley, as you can see in the long view photo of the plot. Anyway, I love helping people in their research, and that is the main reason I do this on this great FREE site! Pam
