I live in Missouri, a descendant of the Townsend, Morris, Jones, Wells, Bassett, Thurman, and Wood families. I am also researching my Wife's ancestors, the Newhard, Saeger, Beil, Moyer, Likens, King, and Ashton families. |

I see you are from my neighboring state of Missouri. My mother was a Townsend and I've been able to trace her roots back to Richard Townsend 1540-1593 England. I have a tree on Ancestry if you are interested. Named Balster-Townsend.
On Lieutenant Hugh Townsend...my brother and I were in Athens Ohio recently and could not find his grave in Bassett cemetery. Is he perhaps buried in Tennessee where he died in battle?
Love your memorial to Hugh, very nice.

|Kelly||RE: John Hunter|
Thanks Jason for such a quick reply!!
I have seen Albert's DC. On Liberty Hunter's DC his birthplace is listed as "unknown" and on Caroline Hunter's it is listed as Ohio. I have seen Pennsylvania also in various family trees.
I have run across another John Hunter married to a woman named Martha, in Kentucky, that was from the same time period as my Hunters. I can't help but wonder if that is a mix up of some sort.
So I was hoping for some sort of definitive source, lol. Maybe I will find it someday. I do have Kentucky listed as his birthplace on my family pedigree.
Anyway, thank you so much for getting back to my question!

Thank you very much for all the work you do creating memorials and adding them to Find-a-Grave.
I have a question concerning John Hunter, Find A Grave Memorial# 44472070. Do you remember the source for his birthdate/birthplace? He is one of my direct ancestors (a bunch of greats-grandpa) and one of my brick walls. I can't confirm where he was born/came from. I have seen Kentucky/Pennsylvania/Ohio.
Any information you can give me would be wonderful. Thanks so much!

|Debbie G||Son of John|
Hi! I show Stephen Townsend Sr. is a son of John, who was born in Bucklebury, Berkshire, England in 1656. John came to America about 1712, with his niece and nephew (Joan and Joseph, children of William).
If you have some documentation to the contrary please let me know. Also, information on Stephen Sr is sparse so any information you have would be greatly appreciated!
6th Great Granddaughter of Stephen Sr,

Can you tell me the source for Humphrey Jones wife's firstname.lastname@example.org
|Nesa Smith Clark||RE: Col. Humphrey Jones|
I was curious as to whether you were able to locate any information on the good Col. And his wife ? And then there is the question , which wife?
How much information do you have on his line?
I recently spent some time on his upline. I believe I got to either 30 or 40 generations .
Let me know if you could use the information . Regards ,
