I live in Arizona and have been interested in genealogy and family history for many years. I have been using Find A Grave for quite while and found it especially helpful on a research trip I took to Michigan in April 2008. That trip really got me thinking - and knowing that all my tombstone pictures will get tossed after I die - I decided to start participating!|
I am contributing in hopes of helping others who may be searching for names in their family tree. If you have additional information or corrections - please contact me. If I have made a memorial for your direct relative and you'd like it transfered to you, just ask.

We can go crossed-eyed after a while-at least I do! Was trying to find the proper home for Wordens that were plopped into Chesterfield West Cem incorrectly (3 generations!!!) Ugh

Would you happen to know how he passed away? Asking for a friend who dated him in high school.
|Charlene Crosthwaite||Joseph Supernois|
His actual name is Joseph Surprenant. He was baptised in Canada. His parents are Toussaint Surprenant and Julienne Roi/Roy. His mother's maiden name isn't "King", but "Roi/Roy". Death certificate information is wrong.
Apparently when the family came to Vermont from Canada, the spelling of the last name was changed. Supernois is one spelling, but Surprenant is the spelling on the baptismal records including Toussaint's own baptism.
Toussaint and Julienne married in Quebec, Canada in 1837. In the 1900 census they are living with their granddaughter, Cora Swenor. They are listed as Tuey and Julia Supernois. According to that census they had 10 children--5 of whom were living at that time.
They had their granddaughter, Cora Moran Supernois living with them from the age of 3 years. Perhaps because of her parents or mother's death.
Researching this family as they are distantly connected to my husband and more closely related to a very good friend of ours!
Thank you for your time.

Glad to help. I will try to clean the lichen and moss off of the stones with D/2 when the weather is a little more cooperative. I may take new pictures and replace the ones I just put up.

Hi Denise - Please note that Rufus' death record, and the death announcement published in the Burlington Weekly Free Press on March 02, 1877 in Burlington state he died in Burlington, and his Vermont State Probate records confirm he was living in Burlington when he died. -Deb

Thank you Denise for the transfer of Elmer and Mae, it is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for kind words, Denise...Mrs Barnes had me checking notes at first as her name "Ethel" on print out threw me a curve. Blessed Easter!

You are so welcome. When I have the section and lot number it is very fast. I live nearby the cemetery. Glad you liked the photos.
