I was born in Mecklenburg County Virginia in April of 1962.I have been doing family research since I was 12 years old.|
Over the years I have been trusted as the Custodian of hundreds of original Family photos. It deeply saddens me that other researchers feel the need to download images from my collection never once Citing the source of the precious images. In some instances denying me the option of posting my own images on the Memorial pages of my Direct Ancestors. This is both discourteous and disrespectful.
Shame on anyone who sees this website as some kind of "race" that they are willing to win without scruples or morals, afterall we are dealing with the final resting places of our ancestors here. Please find other ways to satisfy your obsessions.
I have found the resolution department for Find A Grave to be just as discourteous and unhelpful. In some instances my bios and images were merged with other memorials created by people who are not even remotely related to me or the person memorialized. This was done without my permission or approval.
If this sounds harsh I am sorry but I do not take my research lightly and I am very passionate about my ancestors memorials being done correctly.

|Sherlock||I agree with you about pictures|
Glad to find someone who feels like I do about family pictures being copied and put on family trees and genealogy sites. I have had entire find a grave pictures and Bios copied and put on Family Trees without giving me any credit for the information. I had my pictures marked copyrighted but it did not stop them. When I read Bio's for my ancestors copied word for word the way I wrote them it makes me mad. Find A Grave sold out to Ancestry.com and now everything on Find A Grave will come up just by entering a name. There should be a class action law suite against them. Many millions of people have had their pictures and genealogy taken for free.

Thank you, again, for your alertness regarding these pictures! I know the family will treasure them. Fran

Thanks to you I have been successful in finding out something about my great grandfather, William Young. Don't know how you did it but great work. No one in my family knew anything about him. With the aid of another findagrave researcher, Michael Travis, I found your findings about him. He is buried in the Old Union Burying Ground in Alexander County. Thanks for your work. Asking a favor, how can I get a copy of his death certificate or a more legible and complete copy of newspaper article concerning his death or anything related to him?

Jerry - I apologize for not asking your permission. When I posted the picture of Rebecca I noted that you were the owner of the picture.
Again, I apologize for not asking before posting.
Are you related to Rebecca? If so, I would be glad to transfer Rebecca to you. I am not directly related.

My husband is a descendant of David Alexander son of Allen Ulysses Alexander. I saw the copy of the land grant but was hoping there is a clearer copy. I tried some websites but wondered if you could turn me to the correct location.
Many thanks, Wanda Lee
PS I also have ancestors from this county.

Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures. I have such fond memories of spending summers at Aunt Vivian and Uncle Baines when I was a child. They were always so sweet to our family. My dad was the youngest brother of Aunt Vivian. Marvin Church. They will never be forgotten by me.

I have access to old obituaries at the library. I will check the next time I am there. It may be a while before you hear from me.

JERRY, I HAVE LOOKED AT EVERY MEMORIAL THAT YOU HAVE POSTED ON Find A Grave. I LOVED THE OLD PHOTOS BUT MOST OF ALL I LOVED THE STORIES YOU TOLD ABOUT EACH ONE. YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT WRITER , SO GOOD I HAD TO LOOK AT EACH MEMORIAL AND I READ THEM ALL. IT WAS A HISTORY RECORD ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF IREDELL AND ALEXANDER COUNTIES. I ALMOST FEEL LIKE A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. THANKS SO MUCH FOR SUCH A GOOD READ. HAVE A GREAT EVENING JOAN
