Chauncy Coffman
Thank you very much for all your time an efforts in trying to obtain a photo of Chauncy Coffman's headstone in Washington Veterans Home Cemetery. I unfortunately don't have much additional information to provide any real help.

I got where he was buried from an Obituary. I do believe his wife is buried there as well tho I was never able to find an obituary for her. Her names was Edith [Watts] Coffman.

Thanks again!!

His SS application says he was born in Fresno, CA, his 1920 census says Indiana, he married and had a son in Minnesota. Thats why I'm grasping at straws and hoping for a needle. I dont have a direction to go so I have to pursue them all. Jenny

Hi Sharalyn, I wish I knew, my grandfather states on his SS application in 1939 that his parents are George Schumacher and lena Hill. He told family that he had a sister Helen and a twin. I dont know if they are one in the same. I'm actually grasping at straws hoping to come out with the needle. In the 1920 census in Benton MN he told the census taker he was 21 and born in indiana and I dont think he would have had a thing to hide at the time. Im not sure he would have thought it a good idea to lie on his ss application so i believe his parents were george and lena born about 1872. They are typically german names. I forgot where I asked about this gravestone, where are you looking. Thanks,Jenny

Hazel Cotton Shafer
She is in a section that is quite full but both spaces on either side appear to be empty. She is in Block 13 section 8 lot 8 space 25 1/2. I did not notice any other Shafer's in the area. Sorry.
