|Joseph Rhea||Our Wray Family|
Hi Cousin, I assume you are a descendant of Granville Webster Wray or his father, John Hamilton Wray. I have a very extensive genealogy of the family going back to Granville's great great grandparents, John and Hannah (Hasty) Ray of County Roscommon, Ireland. My research on the family began over 50 years ago with a genealogy put together by my great granduncle who was a school teacher in Indiana and a graduate of William and Henry College at the age of 16. As a school teacher with no children, he spent his summers visiting the camp meetings of the Grand Army of the Republic and the Soldiers of the Confederacy. He also made extensive trips to visit the older members of his distant Ray, Wray and Rhea relatives in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and in the western states of Kansas and Nebraska. I have four copies, handwritten by him, of his genealogy of the family. In them, he records the name and marriage of Granville's Grandparents, William and Sarah Coons Wray along with their two sons, John and Gideon.
I am most anxious to correspond with descendants of your branch of the Wray family. Please contact me at my regular email address, firstname.lastname@example.org since I daily check my emails there. Thank you, and I look forward to the opportunity of sharing information with you. Joseph C. Rhea. P.S.: I am a descendant of Joseph C. and Margaret (McComb) Rhea, the younger brother of John and Mary Margaret (Ferguson) Wray who was Granville's Great Grandfather.
