Do you at all live close to Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill? I heard back today from the man at Yorkville Cemetery Association, and he has to dig a little deeper. He said, like you did, that there are no records for Lillie Comer Edwards or Sarah Jane Comer Poplin at Rose Hill. They are definitely buried somewhere around there as I have two newspaper articles stating such. Just not which cemetery. Today I saw a remark about someone bured at Laurelwood in 1903, about the same time as the Comer sisters. Was wondering if you could check into it? Thanks for any help.

I meant more like, as the death notice shows, wouldn't it make sense for the girls to be buried at the same cemetery as the parents (not actually in the same plot, though maybe)? Would you believe I found an online email for the new guy in charge of the association. Unfortunately, William Brice died in 2012. He will look at the records tomorrow. Cross fingers!

I can't thank you enough for that information, and the help in looking it up. Though I have to say I'm confused as heck. Is there another old cemetery in York that could possibly be the one? Doesn't it make sense for the parents to bury these two young ladies at the family cemetery in 1903? I am baffled. Is it possible that the inscriptions books do not have them because they have no markers? Sorry for the 50 questions, but I'm so disparately trying to find the grave site of Lillie Comer Edwards for my mother. I will write the Cemetery Association.
