It appears that it is a traditional family name and has been used in several generations. Thank you for the edits.
If these are your family and you would like a transfer, please let me know. I would be glad to do so. Thank you

I wouldn't mind it at all.

Certainly, it was given to me by one of his grandchildren.

Not just ancestry.com but 8 census reports put his birth year 1861-1860 (w Aug birthday, he was never "old enough" for census to show correct year) and an obituary on him which indicates he died at home on July 16, 1933. The obituaries on him and his wife list marriage years (to each other) 3 years apart. I also have a relative in Lee County Iowa who has done extensive research on these Hackards and I am in contact with some of Lewis'descendants.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had figured out more of his information on my public tree on ancestry.Com but apparently had not gotten back to findagrave with the correct info until you brought this to my attention. Are you related to the Hackards?

May I have permission to use the photo of Birdie Fields (memorial 74863931) in my family tree software? You will definitely be given credit!
