I saw your note on his memorial and thought I would say hi relative! I am not familiar with your 'branch' of our collective family tree, but I am the great-great(however many times) grand daughter of John Milton, through the son's side of the family. I am finding my father's side of the family tree to be very fascinating indeed!

Hello Joyce and thank you for the note. I'm guessing you may be James' sister since you referred to him as "bubba" in the note you left with flowers on his memorial. If so, you may consider sending Findagrave contributor Foxhunt a message identifying yourself as James' sister or family member and asking him to transfer management of James' memorial to you. That way you could add additional biographical information about James and perhaps links to other deceased family members who may have memorials on Findagrave. I served on board the USS Trenton LPD-14 from around May, 1976 to May, 1977. I don't remember all those who died in the liberty launch accident personally as there were many of us, both Marines and Sailors, on board ship while at Barcelona Spain. I do belive, however, that James was on the Trenton as his name doesn't appear on the roster of those who died while stationed on board the USS Guam LPH-9 at the website www.USSGuam.org. If indeed James was on the Trenton, let me know and I will upload a very nice color photo of the ship to his memorial. By the way, I am originally from Tampa, Florida where I went to high school and college. My career has taken me away though in recent years. Take care and may God bless both you and James!

Hey Joyce. Thanks for your message. So sorry to hear that Randy died from lung cancer. That's the same as Mom & Dad - both lung cancer. Karen died from breast cancer (twice) that had spread to her brain. She had a bout with lung cancer too but chemo/radiation beat it. Carla had heart surgery but died from multiple strokes during surgery that left her on a ventilator, paralyzed & fed thru a feeding tube. Both died in Hospice Care. I miss them all so much. As you know, the heartache doesn't go away but does ease a little with time. I'm planning to write a book about Carla & Karen called "My Sister's Journey". I finished my first book about the Sullivan dining room table called "If Our Table Could Talk-A Family History" and you can see a previous on www.lulu.com and purchase if you like. It was the dining room table that began with Grandma/Granddad Sullivan and my Dad inherited. It still has the chewing gum underneath from when Dad & his siblings were all young. I sent a copy to Aunt Aileen in Washington too. Anyway, hope you are doing well and will stay in touch. Take care. Kathy

Hello Joyce - I am Randy's cousin, Kathy. Carl Jr. was my Dad and Carl Sr. was my granddad. Your message for my Dad was left on the memorial for Carl Sr. Didn't know if you realized it or not. Dad was a wonderful guy - lot of fun and his smile was infectious! I still miss him terribly as well as my Mom. I have since lost two of my sisters, Carla & Karen, over the past two years. Pretty tough time for my remaining sister, Debbie, and myself. Hope you are doing well and will stay in touch!

You're very welcome Joyce, glad to be able to pay it forward for all who have helped me :)
Looks like you have several duplicate memorials that you might want to check on and delete. Thought you might want to know.

Hi Joyce, beautiful photos of the grave you're looking for in Astatula Cemetery are available at the following website: http://www.uscemeteryproj.com/florida/lake/astatula/astatula.htm
Let me know if for some reason you can't view it and I'll see what I can do. Enjoy :-)
