In 1975, as a lark, I began investigating my family history to prove or disprove the oral family traditions that had survived and been passed from generation to generation for 150 years. Some I have found to be true, others questionable, and others false. During this process I have joined genealogical and historical societies in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. |
Initially, I subscribed to the magazine Genealogical Helper and submitted data sheets to their Roots Cellar before the existance of many of the genealogical websites available today. I was alerted to the Find A Grave website two years ago by a friend who shares an interest in a common ancestor but my submissions did not begin until this year. After listing my family memorials, I have taken it to the next level and entered memorials that I had copied decades ago. I continue to be fascinated by the old inscriptions and sayings of old tombstones and enjoy the challenge of deciphering them. My focus is primarily on preserving the information on those grave markers, limestone and marble, that will be unreadable in the future.

Hi - I am searching for anyone connected to James M. Mann born around 1817, may have lived in Bucks Co., died 1887 and buried in Mount Moriah, Philadelphia. Several of his (our) family members are buried in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn PA.
Thanks - PJ Maylandt
