|Bio and Links|
Hello, Welcome. I love working on my genealogy as often as I can. I started because I just did not know a lot about my family. So back in 2001 I began my research. I have found over 300 people in my family thus far. I have met some distant kin along the way with pictures. Very exciting. I have so much fun looking up my families past. Find many interesting things about them.|
Dec 21, 2010: I just wanted to update my bio as right now I have found over 2200 people in my family tree. I thank everyone who has had a part on my journey with info and pictures. It is good to know where one comes from and how we got to where we are. I am adding to my tree often and know it will continue to grow. I hope to be able to help pass all of this info along to my children and so on.

I can't recall just what I've sent you earlier, so I'm sending URLS that show Nelson's Civil War data. I found these through MyHeritage search, so I'm ot sure if the URLS work for everyone MAX

I added the photo to this memorial, however I no longer live near that cemetery so I am unable to retrieve any information for you. You might reach out to Joan Shoffner to see if she is able. She does live in Sidney and created that memorial.

Yes, Nelson M Sammis married, but we have no maiden name so far. Here is his Andersonville URL http://www.civilwarprisoners.com/searchresults.php?fname=&lname=sammis®iment=&database=andersonville Max

Hi Sylvia, I found my great uncle Nelson M Sammis listed on Sultana page, while doing a net search for him. I have since been told that these data sources are not necessarily accurate. I do know he was at Andersonville, and those men were generally placed on the Sultana when discharged. Sorry I don't know more. The Sammis family is from Darien and/or Stamford CT Max

Thank you for that added information for Effie. I had not seen her info in the cemetery and so happy to get it. I didn't know who she was married to until I say the tombstone information. Appreciate the extra effort on your part for providing me with this information.
