Oh my goodness. After I replied to your request about Lorena Dancer, it automatically bounces me to your page. So I found myself reading your bio.

My great grandmother was a Markle from Indiana!! That's just crazy.

I have info on her line and lots of photos if you have a connection.

Jesse Evaline Markle ... Can't remember when her dob was right this second... But she died I think 1933 and she was young. Sister Irene. The rest I would have to look up. :)

RE: Joseph D Weimer family, Stark CO., OH
What is also odd, is there was a Peter Bash married Perry County, Ohio 1875 to a Sarah McGongle, father Hugh born in Ireland. Jacob and Leah's daughter Sarah Lawyer, Find A Grave Memorial# 122943720
first marriage was to Issac McGonigle on Jan. 13, 1878 in Boone County, Iowa. His father Andrew was also born in Ireland. McGongle is not that common of a surname.
My mom's Winney family went from New York to White Pigeon, St Joe, Michigan about 1835. My G-G-Grandfather may have been born there. A couple of years later, his parents had died of malaria.
He was raised by his older sister Nancy Winney and her first husband Baltus or Baltzer Moke, (Jacobs)
son in Lagrange for a bit then Knox County, Illinois. Baltzer left Nancy for the California Gold Rush after their 2 children had died.

I looked at the marriage record image. The name is Jacob Lower. The "L" is very similar to the "L" in Leah. The marriage was preformed by Rev. John B Bash
Find A Grave Memorial# 65123378 of the "Church of the United Brethren in Christ".
This was Jacob and Leah Lawyer's Church in or near Wilmot.
John B Bash moved to Huntington County, Indiana
His father John Bash, Find A Grave Memorial# 75138746 is buried in Wiemer Cemetery, Sugar Creek TWP, Stark County, Ohio.

Linda; What I find is the families I am looking for in Stark County tended to be United Brethren Church or perhaps mennonites. Do you find this in any of your family research? Also do you fid any cases of divorce in your German families?

RE: Joseph D Weimer family, Stark CO., OH
Thank you for getting back to me.
I will look at your suggestions as there were Jacob Somers in Ohio. I am pretty sure now Leah was a Font rather then a Ford.
What I am mainly looking for is my Frederick and Catherine Lawyer family missing in every record I can think to look in, supposedly from Germany, migrated maybe 1820's but perhaps connected to the Layer/Lawyer/Lahr/Lore ect... family in Schoharie County, NY, namely Lawyersville.
What I did not say is information about Jacob Moak also spelled as Mook, Moake and Mock, Find A Grave Memorial# 39551227 I have been told by SAR Sectary Jefferson Davis Mooke (I seem to recall) all of these families are likely related including the families in the deep South and the connections are likely in Switzerland. They use the same given names over and over again. Jacob born near Albany NY moved to Saint Joseph County Michigan about 1835, his family went to LaGrange County Indiana that was just next door also in the same neighborhood as your family.

So far I have not made a connection to these Moke (various spellings)families but I do think it likely.

Joseph D Weimer family, Stark CO., OH
I am looking for information on my G-G-Grandmother Leah Ford,# 43640857 listed as Leah "Font" age 12 living with Joseph and Hannah Weimer in 1850.
Leah married Jacob Lawyer in 1855, Stark County, moved to Whiteside County, Illinois with the Overholtz and Wetzel families, then to Iowa.
I have a lot more but will send you private e-mails.
Also have info on Neal families from Ohio.
Thank you
