Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Linda Key. I have been researching my Key, Balk, Koontz, and Whitehead family since 2000.
My dad, Byron Clinton Key Jr, was born and raised in Vernon Co., Missouri. He was the second of nine children born to Byron Clinton Key Sr. and Viola Anna Balk Key. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a fighter plane mechanic. He retired in 1974 after 20 years of service.

RE: Koons/Koontz
George & Susannah had a son also called Henry. Henry is my 3rd Great Grandfather. Henry & Drusanna had a son John (2nd GG). John & Mary Jane Brown had a son George. George and his brothers and a sister moved to Michigan in the 1870's. George & Anna Young had a daughter Audry. Auddry is my Grandmother. Koons was changed to Koontz sometime between 1900 - 1910. It is interesting that your side also changed to Koontz. I do not have anything on on your Henry Koons, so would be very interested in sharing info. Maybe it would be easier to communicate using email than using F.A.G. Mine is I live in Harrison, Michigan.

Hi Linda, sorry I do not know the plot number or location in the Taneytown cemetery. My daughter was there in 2008 and counld not locate it. My grandmother (father's side) was a Koons (Koontz). Name was changed to Koontz after moving to Michigan.
I have a lot of info on my side of this family.
Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Dorothy louise Dunbar
You have an edit for her parents as
Sylvania Byland & Bertha Koontz Dunbar.
She was the wife of Wallace B. Dunbar.
Was her maiden name Dunbar, the same as her married name?

Just thought I'd let you know your photo on your homepage is sideways, not vertical.

Hi Linda - I am not sure what you are asking me to change. When I click the link for Wesley, it shows him as a child of Delilah. Maybe I am not reading your note right.

RE: Z Birdsall #82555096
Hi Linda, I checked again today and there is a Zephaniah d. 1st mo. 12th day 1856 aged 52y 9m 11d with a war of 1812 marker. This marker is in the same cemetery as the photo that I posted back in 2012. There is a total of four Birdsall's burried in this cemetery(Quaker Cemetery). The others listed are "B" foot marker, "?" foot marker (weathered) d. 11 mo. 28th d 1850 aged 80y 8m 15d, "Z.B." footmarker.
There is a Mary T. Birdsall b. 30 Jan 1808 d. 01 Dec 1840. She is the wife of James Washburn. She is buried in the Washburn Cemetery which is off of US Rt. 250 south east of Fitchville, Ohio.
Last in the county is Samuel Birdsall d. 22 Jan 1879 age 86y 3m 1d. Samuel is buried in Stueben which is near Willard, Ohio.

If any of these match someone you need let me know and I will make arrangements to get pics for you.
Good luck

It would be best if you made the memorial for her and as you find information you can add it.
