RE: David Whitt
Dan I am not sure you got my first message so I am trying again. I do not have any info on David Whitt. The book "Pioneers & Patriots, A History of the John Wilkins family and some related families of Virginia" - Tuck, Hite, Wall, Winn & others 1618-1979 by James Richard Wilkins, c1980, has a lot of info I found helpful.

My grandmother was Etta Sue Whitt Averett and I have been doing some research on the Whitt family but have not had much luck. My friend told me about this book:"Pioneers & Patriots, A History of the John Wilkins family and some relate families of Virginia". It has helped some. It is a reference book and the library does not check out reference books. I will let you know if I come across this name.

William Emerson Skidmore, Jr.
I can't find anything on him but the dates for birth and death. B. 19 May 1925 and D. 19 Feb 1998.

He's mentioned along with his brother Lawrence in their sisters obit., Lois Skidmore Rosenbaum, Find A Grave # 62332105.

Sorry, I can't provide more information.

Hello Dan, I do not have any more than you do on Stephen G T Hite. Below is a copy of his war record which you may already have.

Served nearly three years in the 59th Virginia Volunteer Infantry, and in May 1864, was wounded by a musket ball carrying away the fourth toe of his left foot. He participated in the siege of Richmond, under the command of General Lee at the time of his surrender to General Grant.

P S He was my second cousin 3 times removed
