I am a resident of Union County, North Carolina. Because I have ancestors from Chatham and Alamance Counties I visit there on occasion. I enjoy helping others locate their ancestors and gravestones can be the only source available for birth and death dates.|

Some of Catherine Marshall-Denney's children were Deborah, Melissa, and Levi Marshall, brother and sisters. I'll send you an e-mail with more details.

Sorry, I made a mistake in the 1900 census: I put
"In the 1900 Censuses Gola is listed as Goldie male, 8 yrs old with surname of Calhoun (which should have been 'Mitchell')
It should be . . . . . .
"Surname of Calhoun (which should have been 'Marshall'".

William T Marshall first married Sophronia Ellen Braden on 23 Aug 1868, Parke County, Indiana. They had 3 children: Lavinia, Lillian, & James. Sophronia was born 4 May 1840 in Orange County, Indiana and died 31 Dec 1880 in Parke County, Indiana, buried in Rush Creek Cemetery, Tangier, Parke County, Indiana.
William then married Caroline 'Carrie' C. Calhoun 9 Sep 1894 Montgomery County, Indiana. Caroline apparently had Gola Ray in Oct 1891, 3 years before their marriage. I don't know if Carrie was previously married or if they had an affair and married later or if William T. Marshall adopted him. At any rate he carries the surname 'Marshall'.
In the 1900 Censuses Gola is listed as Goldie male, 8 yrs old with surname of Calhoun (which should have been 'Mitchell') and living with his mother's parents, John and Martha (Matilda) Calhoun.
In the 1910 Censuses Gola is listed with surname of Marshall and age 18. From here on he was listed with the surname of Marshall.
According to my information, Caroline died in 1899 and is buried in the same cemetery as William Thompson Marshall which is Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wingate, Montgomery County, Indiana.
These are the only two wives that I know of for William T. Marshall.
I hope I haven't confused you. Is there another wife for William?

Thank you for your reply. I haven't been in touch with the cemetery. I just thought since you have the memorial of her husband, William T. Marshall, that you might know about his 2nd wife who is buried in the same cemetery. I will get in touch with Less Epperson who posted the photo of his gravestone also. Again, Thank you.

I am a Glaze descendant as is Caroline 'Carrie' Calhoun Marshall. There is a gravestone for her husband William Thompson Marshall but none for her. Would you know if she has a stone or if perhaps she is listed on William's stone? Thank you so much for any help that you can give.

I assume it was a member of your family that posted the newspaper articles about Thomas Griffin. Did you ever learn the source of the article and whether the cemetery was restored as the article was asking for donations?
I am a descendant of his brother Richard Griffin.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so very much for your help on our recent trip. Without your help, I would have never been able to find some of the gravesites I was hoping to visit during my lifetime. Your quick reply to my call for help was invaluable! If you are ever in Central Arkansas and need ANYTHING just call or text me. :) My husband and I will come running! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Renke Busboom is also my great great grandfather. Except I think it's "Tonjes," probably with an umlaut on the o. I'm descended through his son Heie. I have many, many relatives at West Blue, but since Renke was one of the founders there, I thought I ought to include him in my list of sponsorships.

I went to Love Grove Cemetery yesterday. It is in bad repair for the older part. I found several Davis' but not Jim. I believe I found his son. I am going to create memorials and post these pictures. I contacted the church, and they are going to find me someone that may know where he is buried.
